Pros
other workers and some cross training
Cons
lack of raises and compensation
Pros
When I joined it was a growing division and there was good opportunity for those who worked hard and smart. Management encouraged employee development. Good balance between work and home life.
Cons
Mortgage and real estate related business that is subject to market volatility. While opportunity was there compensation was very limited. Limited training opportunities for employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Best practices, best practices, best practices!!
Pros
Interesting company with good mission. Evolving.
Cons
A some what isolated management team -
Pros
ineteresting work and system
good people to work with
the ability to work with smart people knowing what they are doing
Cons
The system is old and the ability to learn new things is a challenge
The drive to make numbers is very challenging
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to your employees, they have good ideas and input. Update the system so that it is current technology this will help in many ways
Pros
good benefits, tuition reimbursment, thats it.
Cons
not much room for advancement
Pros
Flexibility with work hours and opportunity to work-from-home when needed makes this company a good place to work. The benefits are decent.
Cons
The industry is struggling so the company is, too. No salary increases in several years and raises are nearly impossible to come by. Morale is low and communication from senior manager to employee is lacking. At least one layoff a year for the past five years makes it an unstable place to work.
Advice to Senior Management
The managers within the organization must live the stated corporate values. Effective communication and change management would help with some of the morale issues. Not sure this business unit is reflective of the corporation as a whole.
Pros
it's great to work with the clients, all of whom get individual treatment - even though some may need more. fellow workers truly care about quality.
Cons
the workload can be overwhelming, lots of deadlines and competing client needs can sometimes make getting anything done very difficult.
Advice to Senior Management
Please do more to understand where the industry is heading. Please be more competitive and get hungry about success. Please think more freely and be more entrepreneurial.
Pros
big market to draw upon
Cons
no raises in 2 years. They have had no sales in 3 years.
Advice to Senior Management
get a new leader at Mortgageserv
Pros
Overall Fiserv is a good company to work for. Paid pretty well and decent benefits. Middle management was usually good to work for.
Cons
Senior management lacks true leadership. Nobody makes decisions, usually done by committee. Fiserv overall has become a numbers only company. They continue to slash expenses and jobs to make bottom line numbers regardless of what the long-term impact on clients and employees.
Advice to Senior Management
Communicate better with all levels of employees. You need to think long-term as opposed to only making your numbers to get your bonus.
Pros
The company pays well. The location in South Bend has cut staff three times in recent years. When they are doing well, it is a reasonably good place to work.
Cons
Fiserv will cut staff to show a profit. Layoffs have occurred three times since there was a total change in senior management. The latest was February 2009. Company-wide, layoffs also were in place 2008 and 2009.
Advice to Senior Management
If you want staff to be loyal, you need to show loyalty.
