I have been working at Fiserv full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

*The co workers in the trenches
    *Telecommute flexibility
    *Free bagels on Mondays
    *Jeans on Fridays

    Cons

    * losing quality employees for several reasons, no employee retention
*no promotions (as said by HR)
    *minuscule raises
*no bonuses unless you are a director (or above)
    *lack of product focus
*no forward thinking on products, competition way ahead of us
    *constant re-orgs....every 12-18 months
    *little to no career development
    *absolutely horrible health insurance
*too much hiring from the outside, no internal movement
    *top heavy on management
*no resources for development or client projects
*staff is stretched way too thin
*morale is at an all time low (I've been here ten years)

You may ask why I am still here at Fiserv after 10yrs. Well I am quitting tomorrow.

I worked at Fiserv full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

some great employees still there and committed, good teamwork (historically).
    cafeteria onsite is very good
    flexibility in work/life balance

    Cons

Although there are great people to work with, new management started to dismantle the culture of team work for individual contribution. Executive values and culture is in flux again as a lot of new management, and appears for the worse.

office decor is stale and drab. lighting is poor and hard on the eyes. many years of desk work and often long hours required will take its toll. many employees recently putting in a lot of over time. I was over 70+ week for months prior to being terminated. I've seen that model over the years...work them hard, then terminate, multiple times, its in their HR culture.

Stress can be high, especially with ongoing change in culture and management.

business is challenged to grow, competition is intense (commoditized business). That increased challenge (fun) but also stress.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

treat your committed and valuable people with respect (do unto others as you would have them do to you). There is nothing like being a key contributor to a company for many years and then being discarded with no benefits. They don't live their values when it comes to their employees. this review is in line with others of similar tenure who were dismissed. Advice to employees: It appears most people will not have an opportunity to live out their career in this company, so plan accordingly, continually build your resume and keep alert for better opportunities.

I have been working at Fiserv full-time

    Pros

The location is easily accessible via public transit.
This job can be a good stepping stone to another job.
The multiple shifts are good for those needing flexible schedules.

    Cons

It is highly difficult to advance.
    The office culture is undesirable.
The salaries aren't competitive and raises are meager at best.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There needs to be some restructuring and training provided to management BEFORE people are thrown into positions.

I worked at Fiserv full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Very solid company and if you are in the right role. Often a job for life for people

Seem to be trying hard to move thru the silo'd bureacracy

    Cons

Very negative feedback oriented organization. Can be very good if you are motivated by that as I am) but might be challenging for some/many.

Massive organization with huge silos between divisions. Company is working hard to break down these history walls but any movement across division on product boundaries is next to impossible. I was sucked into Fiserv via an acquisition

Generally boring products and boring technologies targeted to the mass market.

I have been working at Fiserv full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The Senior Leaders have a clear vision on where we need to go. The company has made a tremendous investment in associates over the past several years in personal development programs. The stock purchase plan is unbelievable

    Cons

The vision from senior management still needs to make it through the organization, there is still silo's that need to come along with the change.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
