I worked at Fiserv full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Other than medical, the benefits are very good. Tuition reimbursement, cafeteria allowance, good PTO, wfh if you're in the right group. Stable, secure. Decent pay Good coworkers. Intelligent managers (at least mine were).

    Cons

Medical benefits are bad. HDHP w/HSA. They say it's the industry standard. So why not be a leader and provide good health benefits instead of being one of the crowd? Lack of opportunities and training. Culture can be a little unprofessional. CEO can be a jerk during town hall meetings. Someone needs to tell him to stop threatening to fire you. Even as a joke. And stop withy the stand up routines.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Better health benefits
    - better training opportunities
    - allow for advancement
    - encourage career growth.

    I worked at Fiserv

    Pros

Great clients and excellent people to work with.

    Cons

Always focused on next revenue client, too distracted with multiple business units to properly care for current clients and employees.

I have been working at Fiserv full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Stability, good employees, good place for employees with families.

    Cons

Raises are few and far between. Willing to let other companies steal good employees rather than pay just a little more. Management tends to take advantage, but what job doesn't have this.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It takes a long time to learn any position at Fiserv, don't be so willing to let good employees jump ship for a little amount of money.

I have been working at Fiserv full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

They have great benefits and the salary is pretty decent for an entry level job.

    Cons

The department that I work in, is grossly under staffed and it causes the rest of the team to work that much harder.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The management could not micro-manage as much. The team knows what needs to be done and doesn't need to be told from managers half a country away.

I worked at Fiserv full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Loved the people I worked with in my department.

    Cons

In the 5 years I worked there, things went downhill FAST! Employees are not treated with respect. No raises for us, but CEO gets giant bonuses for upping the stock price. No raises plus higher benefit costs every year meant I was making less money after 5 years then when I started there. Decreased shift percentage for 2nd and 3rd shift workers. Took away sick days and told us when we HAD to use our vacation (i.e. banking holidays). Took Employees Make a Difference week down to Employees make the difference DAY! I think you get the picture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You took a Fortune 500 company off the Fortune 500 list. Enough said.

I worked at Fiserv as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

Company was expanding and growing, so a big emphasis on aligning after acquisitions. Strong financials.

    Cons

Outside the city - prefer working in the heart of downtown, but otherwise great facilities and campus and easy freeway access.

I worked at Fiserv full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great day-to-day team and coworkers
Flexible work hours, open to work from homes.
The coworkers I worked with day to day were some really smart and dedicated people

    Cons

    Lack of direction and leadership
Low market pay and lack of raises
Lack of focus, doesn't feel company going right direction. A lot of internal projects ended up getting us nowhere and hurts morale

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Really need to have a clear focus on goals and not just getting short term projects done

Current Employee - Customer Service Representative in Sunnyvale, CA

I have been working at Fiserv full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Work from home privileges when approved by manager, friendly co-workers, work-life balance is OK, 401K is provided and sick and vacation days are combined

    Cons

Constant turn over, so client issues are hard to solve, constant re-organizations and management changes, management treats workers like children and training for employees is considered a privilege, not a necessity. Company matched portion of 401IK does not vest until after 2 years of employment, health insurance is minimal (bare minimum to disqualify someone for Affordable Care Act but majority of deducible from High Deductible Health Plans are responsibility of the employee)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train upper and lower management how to talk to employees like adults, not children. Provide other fringe benefits and better health insurance or else there will constantly be turn over. Leadership needs to re-evaluate the culture of the company and how they promote from with-in. Those who are promoted are usually not those who qualify, but only those who decide to stay long enough to have seniority in the division.
