    I have been working at Fitzgerald Auto full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    Process based company. Sales Associates paid based on quantity and quality, not on gross/profit. Medical benefits available. Many long term employees in the company. Full service dealerships. Customer oriented environment.

    Cons

    Employees pay most of the benefit costs. Commission based pay monthly with draw. Long hours, work weekends.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Teaching a process is only good if everyone follows it.

    No negotiating on the sales price of the automobile and huge inventory to provide an option for every budget and customer

    Cons

    Little support and training provided and sales force extremely large for sales lot, seemed to be a vulture atmosphere that limited sales potential

    Pros

    The business concept is to offer an upfront, open book approach in doing business and to offer the best price they can on a vehicle. The price are set in stone and no hidden fees or surprises to the customer after a decision is made on a vehicle. They actually keep their word and as a employee you are under no stress to push a particular item on a customer. They actually practice a ethical way of doing business and informing the client everything they know (good or bad) about a vehicle. Very impressive.

    Cons

    Employee compensation could be significantly better. No impressed with the pay structure. Many places pay significantly better, but I cannot take the lying to a customer approach the other dealerships tend to want the employees to do.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get off the high horse mentality. The owner is very mindful of both his customers and employees as to how they are treated. As a manager, you are still an employee, so learn how to speak respectfully to your staff and not just the customers because they pay you. Technically, without the support of the employees, no one gets paid.
