I worked at Five Below part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good first job experience in retail. Good management and coworkers. Policies made sense and were good for the customers, employees and business.

    Cons

Busy for holiday season. I'm not the best at handling money, though I improved quickly. While I was there there were some changes and/or procedures for the holidays that I was not always informed of because I worked only a couple days a week.

I worked at Five Below part-time for more than a year

    Pros

If you are in high school or college this is a great part time job. Was generally a fun environment to work in.

    Cons

Pay is not the best. If you are looking for full time employment, don't expect to get a lot of hours unless you are an General or Assistant Manager.

I have been working at Five Below part-time for less than a year

    Pros

i like the way the team setup the store and we unload the items off the pallets, and stock them on the shelves.that really motivate me to strive to success.

    Cons

the job is while being demanding in the way any retail job is,there is relatively easy and fun.the team i worked with was very nice and helpful and the products was fun even though everything is already cheap you get 20% off the items.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

when i first started off it was great, now it's worse, no hours leaving early before ur time.no room for advancement and minimal hours for all non-managing employees, less employee on the job, it need to improve quickly.

I have been working at Five Below part-time

    Pros

The good points include the 20% off discount and the other employees are relatively nice. The store has nice items which are pretty much easy to find. Most of the managers talk to you with respect and thank you for coming in on your on call days.

    Cons

They change or make mistakes to your schedule a lot and don't tell you until the last minute. On call days are extremely annoying. The pay sucks (minimum wage) and they only pay every other week. Your have to make your email quota above 20% or your hours get cut back. Some of the customers that come in there make you either want to rip your hair out or run in the opposite direction. No one is full time except the managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Take a hint.

I have been working at Five Below part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good for someone's first part-time job until you can find a much better place to work out.

    Cons

Where do I start? Everything about Five Below is terrible. I've worked there for a good amount of time, upon getting hired it was an alright place to work but it was fun since we played with the merchandise a bit, particularly around Halloween. It all went downhill when management kept getting swapped around and the company went public. Some of the management through my course of working here were total losers that abused drugs, party all night, get drunk and come into work with hangovers and smell like weed. One of them even rolled one up while at the desk one night, along with them stealing merchandise until they got caught.

I've only stayed with the company since I got a higher paying wage due to the first manager that seemed to have a lot of promise until they transferred. I helped open up a store and it took a year to get my reimbursement but I'm sure they were hoping I would forget about it or quit so they wouldn't have to give me the chump change. I rarely ever work over 12 hours a week and I barely break over for the gas I spend to drive over there. Of course, when the store first opened up, I worked over 24 hours easily and was called in to earn more hours until management changed. I have another job but it's the only one I care about while Five Below is just... there. I've been written up but nothing is done except empty threats. The only people that love shopping at Five Below are people who love buying junk that sometimes actually smells bad.

I couldn't care less about Five Below to be honest.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Drug test when hiring employees but that would cost Five Below money.
