    Pros

I love everything about Five Guys! The food was fresh, the culture and values of the organization was great. It was a fun fast past environment and I worked with the company off and on for 4 years. I came on board as a cashier, Learned to so the table, fries and even the grill. The company values food safety and cleanliness which is always a toss up when working in the food industry. Employees have opportunities to receive bonuses every pay through a secret shopper program. If you make the food right and provide excellent customer service, guess what??? $$$$$ =) If I had to pick up a part time job, Five guys is always my first choice.

    Cons

No really any cons. If you have a suckey manager, that will be the only con in my opinion.

    Pros

Great food, one free meal, and possible extra money. You can earn almost $100 bucks when someone from the company comes in (you won't know it's them) and orders something and if all proper procedures are followed you get extra money on your pay check.

    Cons

At times pretty fast paced and hectic. Cashiers can't delete items. Meaning if someone changes there mind about what size fry they want you have to call a manager to come delete it. This happened a lot with me because people would assume it's one size and then I show them and they are still content but at the last second they are having second thoughts.

    Advice to Management

The main concern with working here with me was that I couldn't delete items. I wish cashiers had the ability to delete items.

    Pros

    Fun workplace
You get trained in pretty much everything, then get to choose what you want to do daily
    Free food

    Cons

if you're not in a very profitable store, corporate doesn't really care about you
They rely on labor numbers heavily (like most hourly places), but if your store doesn't make a lot of money, sometimes your stuck working with just one other person - boring and takes longer to close down the store

    Pros

The concept is simple and routine is good. It's fun to be part of a growing market.

    Cons

Upper management isn't fair in their expectations. Their decisions will run the company under ground.

    Advice to Management

You aren't there to be friends. Step away and look at the real picture. It's not as good as you make it out to be.

    Pros

Tips are nice with the base pay, but if it's busy and a lot of red shirts are working, it ends up being a few coins.

    Cons

Don't get paid enough for the amount of physical work you do, especially if you close. It's hot and you often get burned from flying grease and run into people since the kitchen area is usually quite small.

    Advice to Management

Pay your workers more, especially if they work in an extremely high volume store.

    Pros

They give you lots of hours if you work hard. Job isn't that difficult if you aren't lazy.

    Cons

Poor pay, poor tips, management isn't willing to work with your schedule at all.

    Advice to Management

Be more down to earth. And open to employees needs. I was a hard working employee, but was given 35 hours a week when I originally was hired for 10-20 and I quit because of it.

    Pros

The work is relatively simple because the menu is refined to just burgers and fries. Once you get used to the process of opening and closing it becomes second nature.

    Cons

If you work at a store that is not very busy then they will offer you good pay but make you do 3 other employees jobs and expect perfect results. If you make a mistake it is highly frowned upon but it is easy to do so when you have to do a job that requires at least 3 employees by yourself.

    Advice to Management

Understand that red shirts are essentially people who work twice as hard as you do and get paid much less. Try to work with the employees instead of bossing them around. Its hard enough to work for someone you dont like but its much more difficult to work for someone you dont like and watch them do less and make more.
