    Pros

Extremely clean, free food, meet interesting people who work there

    Cons

Almost OCD manager, needed everything (straws, napkins, etc.) constantly full to the brim, worked us to the bone mopping and sweeping grease and fries constantly and closing the store around 2am

    Pros

Free meal every shift. Secret shoppers visit stores twice a week. If they leave a good report, each crew member on the shift gets a pretty decent bonus to their paycheck that week.

    Cons

Expected to be legitimately excited to cook burgers and fries all day. I understand how to put on a friendly face for a customer, but I can't stand when management wants me to feel lucky that I get to serve people overpriced cheeseburgers.

    Pros

    - Above minimum wage pay to start
    - Easy to get promoted to Shift Leader

    Cons

    - Owners were extremely greedy, kept lowering labor percentages, which meant skeleton crews every day
    - Management would change shifts so we didn't get to receive full time benefits
    - Coworkers were all young and unreliable

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not really anything you can do unless you buy out the franchise yourself.

    Pros

Great training and support, you learn to pay attention to details

    Cons

Promotions are based more on friendship or who you connect with ("the good Old Boy" ) rather than your accomplishments.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Move your district managers around and do not let the management team get comfortable. Allow for more shift and assistant managers to take on more challenging rolls.

    Pros

we have good wages where I work. I started at $8.25 with previous experience. my coworkers are cool. the job responsibilities are fairly simple. most work can be done in 10-20 mins.

    Cons

way too many employees, nowhere near enough hours. favoritism is paramount. aside from the employees the managers like, the hours are very thin.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    spread those hours around evenly.

    Pros

Bonuses and other incentives help make it feel like you have a reason to care for the company. Eventually you'll end up wanting more though.

    Cons

Very strict, management has some tunnel vision in terms of training, sales, and policies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Open your eyes to what your subordinates think of working at Five Guys and maybe you can improve your business with their suggestions in mind.
