I worked at Flagstar Bank full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very nice classes, people willing to help each other. Made lots of friends from people I started with as well as people that have been there for years. You continually grow.

    Cons

Can't think of too many. Maybe food choices at the cafeteria?

    Advice to Management

Learn to take each individual into consideration and if you see a talent let the person know, as well as if you see someone struggling with something try to assist them and let them know the resources available so that an employee can feel like FSB wants to keep them as a valuable asset.

I worked at Flagstar Bank full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Compensation is fair, benefits are very good, co workers are wonderful, nice cafe downstairs for breakfast lunch and snacks. Its a business casual atmosphere.

    Cons

Management is reactive rather than proactive and when the try to be proactive it becomes alot of posturing and nothing really ever gets done effectively and gets put on the back burner. Managers take credit for your work but when there are short comings throw you under the bus to still look good in front of others

    Advice to Management

Trim the fat. Too many managers hanging around are lame duck managers.

    Pros

Great benefits program. Work hours are extremely family friendly. Training available to those seeking it. Encouraged to handle customer complaints on your own.

Flagstar has little room for advancement. Management positions are held by longtime employees. The economy has resulted in layoffs in the company.
