I have been working at Flashbay full-time

    Pros

Good co-workers and atmosphere, great work life balance, good coffee machine

    Cons

Immediate managers act like children, bonus structure is convoluted and often favors the senior sales reps. Upper management has limited-to-no interaction with the US team making all decisions appear wild and punishing to those who follow the rules already.
Steer clear of managers when they are upset, it will get you on a list.
    The office reeks of favoritism.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your sales people like adults, they may surprise you.
Stop enforcing rules for only some of the employees, this just weakens morale.
Oh, and stop posting fake reviews on Glassdoor, it's just petty when you respond to any non-5 star review with a canned response..

    Pros

    Easy work.
    Decent pay
    Good hours
    2 weeks off in December!

    Cons

Employees have no say (All decisions made by owner)
Owner changes mind too many times (gives contradicting instructions)
    Micromanage

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go back to General Patton's quote: "Never tell people how to do things. Tell them what to do and they will surprise you with their ingenuity."

I have been working at Flashbay full-time

    Pros

Good ambient among sales account managers
International ambient - every languages spoken in Europe are represented
Good school if you have no experience

    Cons

Incompetent executives at every levels: They don't lead they order! Team leaders and other managers are just there to ensure you respect the rules of the Company. They are the Police of the company. Team leaders check all what you do, managers check what you do, and special services check what you do. There is no trust. Overwhelming atmosphere. And nobody take responsibility, they hide behind the person above them: "you know it's not me, it's the management... it's the executives... it's the company policy... I don't have the choice"

Demanding rules: 32 calls per day minimum, more than 25 sec, and be careful to not leave a message on the voice mail of your customer or you'll have troubles! 45 emails per day minimum, everything has to be written. For you it's a good reminder but for the company it's mainly a way to control if you do your customers' following well. If you make a mistake in the sale process it will provide evidences and justify the removal of your commission and the profit you've generated in your monthly amount as a punishment.

Incentive scheme ineffective: There are only a few months per year when you can earn a bonus if you hit your target. The main incentive scheme is a challenge among all the sales account managers. It means the ones with the best customers will win the challenge and the others will get nothing even though they did very well. Of course it's always the same guys who win the challenges not because they are better sales representatives but because they have the most important customers and leads.
In the other hand if you generate the best turnover ever for 2 consecutive months you'll get a ham sandwich or a pastry...

Massive turnover: People are being fired or leave very often

    No career plan

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change management staff to charismatic, clever, sensible leaders
Trust your staff, they are doing very well. They do not need to be threatened they need to be leaded and motivated
Maintain every months a proper individual incentive scheme

I have been working at Flashbay full-time

    Pros

It’s one of the best companies I have ever worked for! The people are great, friendly and supportive. The management is very easily approachable and will always listen and discuss your ideas so there are opportunities to really put stamp on things, very entrepreneurial and inspiring! All your hard work is acknowledged and well rewarded by excellent compensation packages. Great office, fun and quality social events, company’s breakfast / lunches to celebrate success are only some of the perks that come with the job. Fantastic work / life balance here that you won’t find in many companies these days. Overall great working environment, strong values and relaxed atmosphere!

    Cons

There are no major cons worth mentioning.

    Keep up the good work!

I have been working at Flashbay full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The commission scheme is very fair, transparent and rewarding. You get to work in small teams and will receive constant training and a very good introduction and mentoring by experienced staff. It is very easy even with little sales experience to step up and make fast progress.

    Cons

No opportunities to experience other branches as the company has a very narrow portfolio.

I have been working at Flashbay full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

This was by far the best sales job I have had. The role was telesales based and was pretty straight forward – especially considering the high earning potential. Customers call or email in expressing interest in buying USB sticks, my role was to convert the lead into a sale.

    Excellent commission
    Great monthly prizes

    Cons

I was unable to progress into a field sales role as the company only has telesales roles.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the commissions and prizes

I worked at Flashbay full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    You'll get the job easily
Lots of sociable people in the office
    Nice location in Fulham
Colleagues are from all over Europe so a great mix of people

    Cons

Leadership: morons who will shout at you in the office if you send a personal e-mail
Leadership: got lucky getting into a market at stage when it was just evolving, bought some good domain names, but have no idea how to scale a business
Leadership: they don't lead. They dictate
Compensation: don't expect it for the first 3 months. They don't pay it for new starters regardless of how many sales you make.
    Company values: There are none.

I walked out after 6 weeks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This is a true reflection of your business. You won't grow until you learn to lead and how to build and scale a company.
