    Pros

Very smart (but also nice, helpful) people to work with. Interesting projects, often at the leading edge in the Cable TV industry. Four weeks vacation. Good benefits for a small company.

    Cons

A third of the company recently got laid off. Since a lot of what the company does is engineering work for other much larger companies, their changes in project direction and delay in payment have a disproportionate effect on this small company. As a result, the number of employees fluctuates quite a bit over time.

    Pros

Good amount of vacation time and health/401k benefits are good.

    Cons

The type of development work is not very satisfying. Very little feedback from management in terms of where the company is going, how things are going and where you can go within the company. Far too much time spent on meaningless details.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They need to communicate more with their employees to make sure they are happy with what they are working on.
