    Dysfunctional, unethical, & shady Management

    Sales (Current Employee)

ProsThere is very little to elaborate on here. Other than their basic services are needed in the fleet industry. The problems arise in how upper management and corporate officers implement and service their products.

ConsThere are far to many negatives to adequately elaborate on in this format. Suffice it to say you will not be happy here in the long run. And very shortly after coming on board you will be looking for other opportunities. The pay is definitely sub par, ( unless your in management) the benefits average at best except for the 401K which is most sub par compared to similar size companies. The pressure to perform and exceed the wall street expectations of the stock price forces upper management from the EVP of sales and up to make decisions that border on illegality to at the very least unethical. Employees are not valued and only treated as a expendable commodity. Pay increases are non existent (been here 6 yrs with no salary increase) commissions are complicated and too many ways to lose money, car allowance way below industry standards, and they even greatly reduced their presidents clubs rewards. So even if you are consistent top performer they decided to reduce your extra earnings. There is a very high employee turnover and now extreme micromanagement thanks to recent decisions by EVP of sales. It is most surprising that government agencies have not examined this company. There are numerous law suits by current and former employees and that information is highly controlled by management and HR. Hopefully some day soon a class action lawsuit will by filed. Count me in !

    IT professional

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsYou still see many nice people around ...

ConsOne would soon became aware that he/she got into the wrong place to work at soon after employed. One of my teammates started looking for new job in 2 weeks after joined the company due to the unfriendly environment. So, run and never come back; or do enough research before you decide to join...

So many layers of dictatorship and evaluation parties toward your professional work in this IT department - a few VPs/managers seem never happy with anyone's work; plus, the direct reporting manager dares not to stand by your side, one would soon become burnout of the environment. The result is that new people come in and leave soon.

One word to the management team, almost all of the IT professionals are dedicated and strive to gain a feeling of achievement thru their hard/talent work, however, if they found that there is not a good environment for them to do so, they would have to choose to leave. My experience told me that you cannot get a decent working environment at FleetCor due to the incapability of the managers.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe CEO should really train his IT managers - especially the senior managers - to behave properly. If a manager is not capable to adequately make use of the team members' talents, rather, can only show his/her bossy (but non-professional) attitude and criticism, you become the loser since you cannot keep the dedicated professional working for the company.

Employees are under valued and company is stressful....stay away!!!

    Manager (Former Employee) Norcross, GA

    ProsAcceptable culture regarding employee engagement

ConsStressful working environment, crazy release schedule, a lot of weekend and extra day work. Management is a joke and there is way too much favortism that goes on.

Advice to Senior ManagementI have no advice to upper management because they don't listen nor do they care. I was never so happy to turn my badge in. Employees are tired of the overtime and all the B.S. management put them through.

Run and dont look back, anywhere else will be better......

Territory Manager (Former Employee) Norcross, GA

ProsFairly easy to get into management . Most dont care what time you come in for work. Now this is different from the sales teams here, they are treated as children and must arrive and leave at a specified time.

ConsNo raises, mafia like culture, and doesn't see the value in employees
Very high turn over rate, long timers have only been there 4-5 years.
Most people are fired or they quit within a 12mos time frame...

Advice to Senior ManagementRemove the mafia and start over. Human capital is very important...

Challenging culture. Low respect for associates and customers

Vice President (Former Employee) Norcross, GA

ProsGenerally speaking there are some talented and helpful people trying hard to make a difference for a better company; fear of failure and consequence is performance driver. The company has an impressive track record of acquisitive growth, and continues to expand globally.

ConsExpect constant criticism; No respect for work; Loyalty to employees is a rare commodity; No job security for middle management, director level positions. Product development is minimal; low innovation; very basic business model with overly complicated pricing plans that can be confusing.

Unethical, shady, poorly managed co. that rides to success on the backs of their employees but doesn't share the wealth

    Sales Representative (Current Employee)

ProsAverage health/ dental benefits, average PTO, stable industry, very profitable company

ConsPoorly managed, unethical practices, atrocious customer service policies, highest penalties in the industry. Sub par salaries and merit increases are non existent except for management. Commissions are sub par. Sales contests are juvenile and pathetic in the rewards. The churn rate of their domestic customers is high. Mostly due to outrageous late fees and customer service issues. This company rode to success on the backs of their employees but they do not share the wealth with them. Their 401k match is only 25%. Managers travel way too much and support their staff way too little. Their only motive appears to be drive the stock price as much as possible. So they can max their value of the stock options they received (work force not even allowed to purchase stock at a pre IPO price). Reduce internal costs, via salaries, reducing sales force car allowance

Advice to Senior ManagementSee a priest and get a exorcism. You should value and compensate your employees who provide you with the wealth you have obtained. The only way to fix the problem is to remove the problem. SENIOR management from the CEO down to the EVP at the very least

    Do not work here! Run!

    Sales (Current Employee)

ProsFood. They love to feed you, but instead of wasting money on the most unimportant things like pizza and chicken biscuits.....pay us!

ConsRediculously low pay and unethical corporate execs. The company will promise you the moon but if you make too much money, you will be penalized. That want to keep you broke and dependent on them like share croppers.

Advice to Senior ManagementQuit and let someone else take a crack at it. You've gone public and made your millions, now let someone who cares about the employess come in and really offer leadership.
