Pros
Great people. Good brand and interesting work.
Cons
The work environment is not strongly inviting or exciting.
Pros
Management has the right attitude, best work is achieved when you know your work is contributing to the company. Management seems to be very positively viewed, everyone seems to be friends that work in the same area
Cons
Low benefits/pay compared to other companies.
Pros
Challenging but rewarding. Filled with smart people. Serious digital and creative capabilities. Strong social media capabilities. Emerging advertising capabilities. Combined with the traditional heritage, FH can compete for most kinds of business and where it cannot, it can look to Omnicom agencies for partnership.
Cons
Internal communications and technology support are good, but not great. Some inconsistencies across the global network, but better than most large agencies in this regard.
Pros
Great global network; good client portfolio; management are generally very nice to employees
Cons
High turnover rate and the company needs to build a stronger management team.
Pros
Great downtown location close to many amenities, promotion of healthful benefits such as once a week fruit delivery in the work place, purified water, nice kitchens available to staff, on-site yoga, generous vacation policy.
Cons
May be a better employer for those involved in the business of public relations but for those who are in more administrative roles, not so much a desired place of employment. Outdated dress code and severely lacking in diversity of both racial/ethnic staff but also lacking diversity of thought. Encourage all potential new hires to make sure there is a cultural fit between what Fleishman has to offer and what you are seeking. Ask about the number of hours you are expected to work per week as a PR professional before accepting an offer of employment.
Advice to Senior Management
Take a look at what other companies are doing to attract and retain talent - not only in the PR industry but look at other companies as well. Place more emphasis on career development for support functions. Revisit your dress code. Do something visible and tangible about the lack of racial diversity. Hold all management accountable for beng respectful of others.
Pros
Highest ethical standards in industry. Terrific culture. Tons of opportunities for junior staff to advance. Great combination of teamwork ethic and individual excellence. Strong ties between global office network allows for world class client service and internationally-savvy workforce--exchange opportunities within global network a unique plus. Great benefits. Working mom friendly. Great place to start your career.
Cons
Low compensation except at senior level. Limited advancement at higher staff level. Some offices very political-advancement not related to ability or new business development. Very competitive internally. Increasingly, not a place for longevity in terms of career. Fewer and fewer senior hires.
Advice to Senior Management
Rethink growing reliance on junior-level staffing model. Loss of experience, expertise will have lasting impact on client service capabilities. Can't always replace expertise with consultants. Don't lose wide variety of service capabilities in favor of bright, shiny attraction of "integrated marketing" and "digital" narrowed focus.
Pros
Lots of experience working with multiple industries.
Cons
May not be options to move up that quickly
Pros
great well known company, working with Fortune 10 companies
Cons
Bureaucracy, a lot of time to get things done from management

Pros
Working on various accounts teaches you the skills needed to begin a PR career.
Cons
Culture was very "corporate" and was not what I envisioned a PR agency to be.
Pros
Employee and peer respect is one of the core values, and for the most part it's true. Out of all the communications firms to work for, this is the place where mutual respect was demanded, and smarts outweighed the typical bells-and-whistles approaches of other PR agencies.
Cons
FH can be "stodgy" and too "old school" at times, and innovation is something with which they struggle. Also, there isn't a great work/life balance, but then again, this is a PR firm.
Advice to Senior Management
I would advise that they keep their eye toward innovation and allocate the budget needed to make digital services grow and flourish.
