Current Employee – been working at Flextronics
Pros – Challenging environment; good people; not boring; decent benefits
Cons – Sr management is micromanaging the wrong KOI's to make the site "appear" better while ignoring fundimental needs to grow.
Advice to Senior Management – Run your company.........do not let your company run you. Stand up and be determined to move foward.

Former Employee – worked at Flextronics
Pros – Many good people work their. Good opportunities if competitive salaries are not a primary concern. A viable career move during down economic times as many OEM's outsource to stay afloat. A good place to better understand how contract manufacturers have earned their reputation.
Cons – Not big on employee development. Control is concentrated a very high levels. Middle mnagement is primarily utilized in more of a supervisory capacity. Aside from seeking to be the cheapest OEM option for manufacturing product, they are not very strategic. Very low tolerance for risk. Upper management is primarily spread around the country.
Advice to Senior Management – The use of off-site management leads to poorly informed decisions and strategies based on personal CYA needs rather than what is best for the customer or site. Better development and empowerment of on-site middle management is needed.

Current Employee – been working at Flextronics
Pros – big international company, good place to gain practical experience if you are interested in electronics manufacturing
Cons – At the bottom of food chain, low profit margin so less pay compared to other industry. It suffers first and most once economy downturn comes and recovery lags once economy improves. Poor working environment since major facilities are for manufacturing. Unstable employment. Restructuring occurs often.
Advice to Senior Management – Make wiser and responsible long-term strategic decision and not for politics reason, or else the consequences will be suffered by the employees at the bottom

Current Employee – been working at Flextronics
Pros – Good boot camp to learn the ropes.
Cons – Paper goals force people to work crazy long hours to meet some made up deadline. In many cases with not impact to organization.
Advice to Senior Management – Be more open and communicate the changes before they are voiced in coffee room.

Former Employee – worked at Flextronics
Pros – They have contracts for customers with great technology. A good opportunity to design and implement processes to repair computer hardware.
Cons – The Morrisville site is like a prison. Operators practically must ask to go to the restroom. They have no since of professionalism. They don't recognize their employees for their contribution and dedication.
Advice to Senior Management – Look at how you treat you team members. Reward your team members for contributions and stop giving the same people rewards for just being in the area.

Former Employee – worked at Flextronics
Pros – You work here for the experience and you will challenged in your position to excel and I think that is a good thing! One issue, you can get lost in the shuffle since it's a huge company.
Cons – PAY level is up to 25% lower than market and you work long long hours, including weekend and nights. Think "flex" hours!
Advice to Senior Management – No comment

Current Employee – been working at Flextronics
Pros – Pay is not bad. Ability to work away from the office.
Cons – Politics. See a lot of people being hired as long as they are the same nationality of the hiring manager. Same for promotions. Seems like upper management doe not notice or does not care.
Advice to Senior Management – For the development side of the business, more patience is required. Seems like you talk about Design, but mostly are interested in the CM business. Do something to shut down the cronyism. One business unit shuts down, the CEO moves to another business unit and starts hiring the same people back from the unit that failed.

Current Employee – been working at Flextronics
Pros – Exposure to a variaty of products. Good environment for a highly tactical person. Fairly easy to get a job there. If you are one that can shut-up and follow orders, you will do well here.
Cons – Management lacks depth of knowledge and does not demonstrate ability to strategize. Very reactive environment. Minimal focus on long term solutions. Highly political.
Advice to Senior Management – Walk your talk when it comes to customer focus. Think more strategically and utilize more of the talent in the middle and lower ranks.

Current Employee – been working at Flextronics
Pros – They take good care of their employees when you're first hired, expences paid for, training for the first month. Several raises for the first year.
Cons – They will suck you in after your hire date with a promising location of satisfying range, once they have you they willl have you work at farther distances. Had no supportive senior management for leadership.
Advice to Senior Management – Support your employees

Current Employee – been working at Flextronics
Pros – Aggressiveness to grow revenue & new customers
Cons – lack of leadership direction on what types of business. Leadership is very narrow focused
Advice to Senior Management – Look into a leadership growth programs. Flex is training good people who leave the company because of lack of growth / promotions. This hurts the company long term as competitors learn pricing, business & solution strategies
