I have been working at Floor and Décor Outlets full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Absolutely NONE, with the exception that it taught me to look more closely at the upper and middle management running the store and to discretely interview employees BEFORE taking a job.

    Cons

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DONT BOTHER TO APPLY TO ANY OF THESE STORES! Employees are frequently asked to clock out early and not permitted to clock in until 2 minutes before opening time. Working off the clock is common. Worked for over three years and received one performance evaluation. No employee discount allegedly because one or two employees at one store abused the system 5 years ago. Employees are frequently injured and forced to work and disregard restrictions, under penalty of being fired for insubordination. ZERO OPPORTUNITY FOR ADVANCEMENT!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Corporate should offer exit interviews, not just an unread survey to ALL employees. Someone from HR or corporate management should visit stores annually and talk to employees to get the real skivvy on what is going on in the stores. Working conditions are SO bad that even customers question us about them. If you wouldn't want your own son, daughter, father or mother working in the conditions at a store, release the managers and start new! Don't expect your managers to be honest about issues in their stores. LISTEN!

    *Great co-workers
    *great relationships formed with contractors
    *Flexible schedule
    *Some good managers

    Cons

    *Awful pay
*Opportunities for growth but those in charge rather search for outside talents than growing associates internally
*Getting promotions or better things is like pulling teeth
*Gotta have a "Yes sir" attitude all the time
*Folks get fired for little to no reason each week
*Management makes it a dead end job, 2 faced managers
*No caring whatsoever from management and very little help on sales floor
    *Favoritism

    Pros

They are great with scheduling and understanding that life happens. You learn a lot about your specific department in the store.

    Cons

Not commissioned at all. Little to no incentive to work/drive sales

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Add some commission to sales associate to help them work harder and further grow the business

I worked at Floor and Décor Outlets part-time

    Pros

Co-workers support each other and there's a great break room to enjoy with eating space, fridge, tv, sofa, etc. Managers seem flexible in scheduling around appointments and personal needs, when possible.

    Cons

Dirty environment: floors always dusty; forklifts drive right out onto showroom floor; palettes of tile & wood stacked everywhere. Also, they have a policy of hiring lots of part-time people and strictly deny you the ability to go over 30 hrs/wk so they will not be obligated to pay benefits. If you are a single, living alone, the lack of benefits is a big hit especially with no full-time pay. Also, the retail hours are tough with early opens (7/7:30a) and late closings (9/9:30p). Schedules are shifted around to extremes that include both early and late shifts; hard to create balance with home life.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire more full-time Customer Service/Sales people on the floor: full-time pay + benefits!

I worked at Floor and Décor Outlets part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Learned a lot, good for networking, and you get a good workout while working.

    Cons

Company-wide pay cuts, highest turnover rate I've ever seen, difficult to move up, pay is not very good, over-worked whether full time or not, and the scheduling is awful. Management has a bad attitude and none of them delegate problems within the work place effectively... or at all. President of the company let and all of the salary employees are now switched to hourly. I believe the company will be sold and crash.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Respect your employees and stop being scared of them and man up when things need to be handled. Also, follow employee availability and stop scheduling every part time worker 9 hour shifts if you're still giving them less than 30 hours a week.

    Pros

    There are no pros here.

    Cons

Everything about working for this company is negative. Corporate decisions are incomplete, uninformed and amateurish. Recent changes to management in-store will encourage further decline. Stay away from working here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please commit to increasing the quality of your store managers and train to retain.

I have been working at Floor and Décor Outlets part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Decent starting pay, Managers work with you as far as schedule is concerned, Room to advance in the company and fairly quickly

    Cons

You get pulled to every department because of uneven coverage, especially in the warehouse. Also, its hard to do your job and be productive when you have to constantly hunt for stuff like brooms, dustpans, pallet jacks, etc.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure you have enough equipment for each department and better training for the store itself.

PEOPLE LOVE THE HUGE STORE AND LARGE COLLECTION

    Cons

(MY OPINION) You are asked to perform your duties in one way. but when you start doing
a little better than you was asked, someone always have something to question.
Some people work much better when left a lone.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper management are lazy people and as long as they make you the hard work and they don't have to do anything. At one time I was making a big sale and I asked one of the
