    Pros

FAMU give you the opportunity to work with some very skilled people. The students are always a lot of fun to be around and wok with as well.

    Cons

There is an extreme amount of nepotism and cronyism at FAMU. A lot of people hire family members and friends who are not qualified to do that job and this can cause serious problems.

    Advice to Management

I wold advice management to cut out alot of the the nepotism and cryonism. It causes disent, problems, and jealously among employees. There should be a more strenous hiring process.

    Pros

It's one of the best and most influential historically black colleges.

    Cons

Nepotism, cronyism and inefficiency abounds. The new administration does not seem to have taken the time to learn the system or the faculty and staff before making changes. Consequently, many changes seem to be ill advised.

    Advice to Management

Treat staff and faculty with courtesy and respect. Take the time to talk to staff/faculty and to analyze the system before making changes. Don't assume that staff/faculty that you didn't hire are stupid or incompetent.

    Pros

The culture of the university fosters creativity.

    Cons

Benefits would be lovely, as there are currently none for adjuncts.

    Advice to Management

Consider giving benefits to adjuncts, or allowing them to participate in the university health plans.

    Pros

I love providing services for the students, their family members, our employees, faculty, vendors and etc.

    Cons

Trying to make sure that every need is met to the satisfaction of each requester even when the services you provided is not what they wanted to hear.

    Advice to Management

Value each individual with worth and show them that they are vital to the entity and compensate and promote them accordingly with fairness.

    Pros

It is very laid back but if you dont know the right people there is no room for growth.

    Cons

The management skills are horrible and people are hired because of who they know. My supervisor is incompetent of her own job and I still don't know my job title. This job is like a crate of crabs every is trying to pull each other down. A lot of people attitudes are nasty and its hurting the students.

    Advice to Management

Learn you job and stop looking down on others. Learn how to communicate effectively with each other. PLEASE create a good work environment
