Pros – Supportive co-workers, supportive direct management. Great benefits, generally happy customers. The hours are consistent and it's nice to have two breaks and an hour lunch.

Cons – It's a very stressful job. When there are irate customers, examiners have to take a lot of abuse and there isn't much that's done to protect the examiner. Staff morale is very low because they haven't been given a raise in 4 years. The job duties of the examiner have grown tremendously, especially since the adoption of the Real ID act, but the pay does not reflect the increased job demands.

Advice to Senior Management – Stop making excuses about the lack of pay, and stop telling your employees that we should be grateful that we have a job. It's demeaning.
