    Pros

The hours are flexible and the responsibilities scale to the ability of the employee. They really value students and staff that show initiative. There is always something to be done that will improve the workings of the organization, and everyone pitches in when needed.

    Cons

Office politics play a key role here, like it does in many other office environments, and working with students can be alternately gratifying and frustrating. While there are excellent long term projects to work on, there will be a multitude of small projects that can derail you when you are "on track".

    Advice to Management

A better focus on long-term goals and clearly communicating what the goals for the year are would be an excellent step forward. Right now the success of the employee is also highly contingent on who their immediate superior is, which is a poor reflection on the capacity of the system.

Additionally, I did not see a pipeline to go from simple assistant to anything better long term.

It's a comfortable working place, where you may balance your career while maintaining a personal and social life. There's always people willing to help and give sincere advice , and most importantly colleagues don't send any negative competitive vibes towards you.
