I worked at Florida Power & Light as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good hourly pay plus I received a housing allowance and got mileage covered because I had a long commute. I really liked my coworkers but I know that most interns did not feel the same about theirs.

    Cons

Actually job responsibilities are bland and not challenging. You don't learn any technical skills that are useful outside of the company. I received an offer at the end but turned it down because the monotony of the job.

I worked at Florida Power & Light full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Large company that allowed for lateral moves between departments. Healthy living was really important. They promoted working out with an onsite gym.

    Cons

It was a sink or swim environment where people were very protective of their jobs. It was nearly impossible to get coworkers or assistant managers to help you.

I worked at Florida Power & Light as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

I could ask anyone at the plant a question and they were thrilled to explain things to me because I was the only intern. Formed more intimate relationship with employers and advisers because the most amount of people on site was maybe 30 people maximum at a time.

    Cons

I was the only intern, so there wasn't a lot of collaborative work with someone of my status. Also, technical work was minimal at the power plant. Job was more focused on project management.

I worked at Florida Power & Light full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good pay, nice facilities, mostly good people. Advancement is not difficult if you are motivated. There is plenty of training offered. Benefits packages are above average.

    Cons

No work/life balance. You are pretty much expected to stay at your desk until all tasks are finished. Weekends and holidays will have to be worked because deadlines will not be moved. Also plan on moving vacations if they don'd line up with company needs.

    Advice to Management

Make work/life balance a priority (more than just words). Hire more people if needed.
