    Pros

Hnads off management allowed a lot of freedom in teaching, flexible in scheduling my courses for the semester, and they offered me more than just the most basic courses so I was able to teach more interesting material.

    Cons

Life as an adjunct sucks. Most of my complaints are more about the system than this particular employer. No sick time, low pay, and rude students (they don't respect adjunct the way they do full timers). They weren't particularly worse to work for than other colleges, but you can't live off what they pay you. A couple things that were particular to FSC were the unfriendly folks in my department and the poor quality classrooms that were dimly lit and often took months to get things like leaks repaired.

    Advice to Management

Pay your workers a living wage, treat them like fellow human beings, be friendly, be respectful, when help is requested take it seriously.

    Pros

Pretty campus lots of new buildings nice lake

    Cons

Florida Southern pays much lower than the national average and less than other colleges in the area as well. Very conservative president and much of the staff, which does not promote diversity.

    Advice to Management

You should be more loyal and caring to your employees, part-time and full-time, and less focused on raking in the bucks.

    Pros

beautiful campus, very nice people, decent benefits for being part time, lax atmosphere, steady hours (sort of) as a PT employee, you are given vacation time after 60 days, depending on when you start -- i got a full 2 weeks which is unheard of in most PT positions. the majority of the people working there have been there a while and are very nice to be around. i worked around security a lot and they showed me around some really cool places on campus. i was also given a personal trainer at the gym. Dr Kerr is a tad intimidating (she's the president!) but she is a very nice woman. i had a lot of personal things going on in my life when i took this job and my manager tried her best to work with me. that says a lot about the atmosphere, IMO. if you are looking for a decent part time position as a student or a second job, this is a great place.

    Cons

99.99% chance you will NOT get a promotion or ever be full time, the payrate is not terrible but they could definitely afford to pay employees more (its a $40k/year school after all!), the parking situation is horrendous, no advancement in some departments i was hired PT but with 36 hours/week. after the ACA mandate in Oct '13, i was cut to 29 hours/week so they would not have to provide me with healthcare or other benefits. that's a huge cut and there was no notice given nor was there any kind of compensation for it. that equates to losing a couple hundred dollars a month and was eventually why i left my position. there is also no way to get above those 29 hours/week and in my department, there was absolutely no where to advance to. as for parking...it's a medium size population campus (i guess?) and the students overrun the parking areas (and park horribly). there is absolutely no where for employees to park and some days i'd spend 15-20 mins looking for a spot and would end up four blocks away from my building.

    Advice to Management

the school is VERY well off, you could afford to give benefits or better pay to some of your lower employees. get your employees a parking garage or assigned parking!

    Pros

My time at FSC was exceptional. The teamwork and vision of the FSC created and environment for young minds not only to grow, but to envision and seek previously believed unattainable goals.

    Cons

I have nothing but admiration for FSC.

    Advice to Management

Great vision, goal and mission.....full speed ahead!

    Pros

    Beautiful campus and friendly people.

    Cons

Horrible teachers and terrible examinations. Financial aid and Registrars people always messing up student accounts. Tuition way to expensive for absolutely no reason. Completely wish I attended a better college.

    Advice to Management

Better teachers for the price of the school.
