I worked at Florida Southern College part-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Beautiful campus and friendly people.
Cons – Horrible teachers and terrible examinations. Financial aid and Registrars people always messing up student accounts. Tuition way to expensive for absolutely no reason. Completely wish I attended a better college.
Advice to Senior Management – Better teachers for the price of the school.

I have been working at Florida Southern College
Pros – The location in central Florida is great! Near beaches, between two major metro areas, but still a small city with its own identity. The center of culture for the area - the campus is a stimulating environment. The faculty and staff enjoy a level of colleagiality that is genuine and refreshing - we truly get along. All in all the campus is a comfortable place to spend a career. There is sufficient intellectual stimulation, a realistic amount of academic freedom, a good vision for the future, and sincere administrators working hard to make it happen. Once you join the community it is hard to leave.
Cons – The pay is seriously below market and needs to be addressed. The board and administration have set goals, but we fail to fund the goals and we fall further behind. The inequity of workload among members of the faculty - a core group tackles most of the heavy lifting and the majority ride along pleasantly pursuing their own self interests. The college has big plans for the future, but lacks the operational financial resources to move on many of the most significant plans. Although functionally sufficient, the campus is technologically deprived and needs more of a committment to this vital aspect of college life.
Advice to Senior Management – Don't micromanage, put resources behind initiatives, revisit and recommit to the strategic plan.
