Local Management is impotent
hr policies are framed by managers
typical indian mentality even though its an mnc
Advice to Senior Management
Treat employees fairly
Pros
Incentives for constant learning philosophy.
Very Dynamic and friendly work environment
Incentive for different career paths.
Cons
Very challenged and stressful environment
Overloaded with responsibilities and underpaid.
Advice to Senior Management
Creates a better communication between the front end and manufacturing employees so that orde acquisition group can reasonably process the orders.
Pros
Its a great place to work with very challenging assignments. There is a great opportunity to learn and one finds really technical assignments. Other faciltiies also have great work
Cons
Timings are quite strict. work at times gets too demanding. there are not that many cons to be very honest
Advice to Senior Management
Apply thorough your universities website and try to get an on campus interview if you have flow serve reps on your career fairs
Pros
Plenty of opportunity for advancement especially if willing to relocate.
Great pay for interns
Cons
ERP system is extremely outdated, making for a long learning curve and creating confusion.
No structured internship program yet.
Pros
Flowserve is a good company to work for in a lot of aspects. They are very focused in training. If you are willing to learn, they are willing to train you.
Cons
Sometimes you happen to get stuck.....trying to get recognition for the work you are doing rather than your manager getting the credit is hard sometimes.
Advice to Senior Management
Upper management should communicate with all employees and not just take for granted what middle management is communicating to them.
Pros
International and the industries it serves
Cons
none - communication could be improved
Pros
The actual working groups were nice to work in - the nuclear group was friendly and everyone stuck together. Project managers were nice. You can take Metro Link and Bicycle to work from the station. During lunch, you can still walk around and get fresh air. Back in 2003-2004 they had employee parties. The old Vernon building is quite historic - they had all of the old mold casts stored there.
Cons
Shop is Union run, so You got to be careful when having work done "fast". Also, the Vernon area is not the safest place to walk at night. Management can be one sided. Career growth seems to be lacking. Back in 2002-mid 2004, I never got a bonus, but I heard they started giving one later.
Advice to Senior Management
Need to interface more ---one on one and find out how employees feel about job growth.
Pros
The most recognized name in the pump business. I'd recommend work for a year or two to gain some good experience
Cons
You are just a number. I work in the Chesapeake office and can not think of one person who is happy with their job. It is a very political environment with people talking behind others backs all the time. Everyone is overworked and unappreciated. Its very hard to get a promotion, as there seems to be a lot of competetion.
Advice to Senior Management
Appreciate the work of your employees and take a sincere interest in their development and advancement. Hire more people.
Pros
Size of company and complexity allows exposure to variety of situations
Good compensation
Interaction with leadership team
Cons
Frequent changes in management
Lack of attention to employees
Reactive instead of proactive
Not innovative
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on employees
Pros
Growth
Good Salary
Compensations
Professionalism
Structure
Nice location
Good year annual bonus
Open door policy
Safety
Managers attention
Good work enviroment
Cons
Few personal time
Overload of work
No family-life balance
Medical Insurance is not the best
No Sick days (have to be discussed with your manager)
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to the employees
