I worked at Floyd Medical Center full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great coworkers who work well together. Nice location between Atlanta and Chattanooga and they work on improvements regularly

    Cons

Nurses are under paid this III s the lost pi dying hospital in the greater Northwest Georgia area. The health benefits are very expensive and don't offer great coverage.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work on better pay and benefits. It doesn't help employees go without raises and know they are the lowest paid in the area but also know just how much money upper management takes home in bonuses. Without your staff you wouldn't have a job in management

    Pros

Convenient to north west Ga good employment experience for new nursing graduates.

    Cons

Invests in physical plant and not enough in human resources. No advancement for current employees. They don't beleive in mentoring or employee engagement. Filling Ed with new grads with limited experience and low pay scale. New nurses will move on after a year.

I have been working at Floyd Medical Center full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

No competition and will probably be around

    Cons

Took over Polk Medical Center and nothing but cuts. Don't even know employees name. Had someone retire in housekeeping after 30 years and never missed a day of work with admin team given nothing on retirement party and then not even knowing her name. ED major money maker and staff treated badly with long term community people that care looking to leave. Don't want to cover the poor people in Polk county. Big bosses coming in with personal agenda.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Have no retaliation procedures.

I have been working at Floyd Medical Center full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great staff. Current technology. Always growing. I have worked at this hospital for 12 years. It has grown so much. I started out in the Pharmacy and transferred to the IT department after 9 years. We have moved closer to being completely paper free. We also gained Polk hospital. We try to stay current on the health technology available.
