    Pros

-Great for single or married individuals -Long term career if you work hard -Great people to work with -Volunteering is good (you should strongly consider doing, looks good on you)

    Cons

-Depending on your skills, you may not go farther than two levels -Huge company so if you have ideas, you may need to go through the proper channels -Huge gap between the millennials and the baby-boomers; Gen X's have it tough sometimes managing both sides if not familiar with the personalities of each

    Advice to Management

Make sure you thank your employees and in some sections of the company, work-life balance is more important than you think.

    Pros

Compensation overall was average. Opportunities existed abroad, if one knew the correct people to contact.

    Cons

I feel promotions and filling of positions within were not fair. Many educated, knowledgeable people were overlooked and feel between the cracks. I also felt there was no benefit to gaining a formal education at moments when up against others that were in the Good Ol' Boy network; very frustrating. Posted jobs were not matched with employees by HR, as should be. Senior management picked whom they wanted. I feel half the jobs posted on-line were a waste to apply for, knowing the positions were likely already filled by someone's buddy or relative. Work/life balance was difficult with a family for those that weren't in the home offices.

    Advice to Management

    Let HR do their job.

    Pros

They will pay you good sometimes even great when the market is up

    Cons

They will kick out at the first chance they get if they don't have projects. You should be related to top management or have a Godfather/Godmother to keep your job or get promoted.

    Advice to Management

Keep good employees based on performance and not relation. Stop nepotism that is plaguing the organisation

    Pros

Work/life balance is very good at Fluor as they promote a lot of company sponsored events.

    Cons

In general Fluor has been a great company to work for but their offices are very outdated and so are they business practices. Little has changed since the 1980's in that regard.

    Advice to Management

Update the offices and provide a newer and more modern vacation system.

    Pros

Friendly work environment, in-house gym, in-house cafeteria, and good benefits package for full-time employees. Lot's of events for the family.

    Cons

It sometimes felt like you could get lost in the crowd of employees. If you didn't make an effort to stand out, you could get lost in the shuffle and your hard work wouldn't be recognized.

    Pros

Fluor has a good support from experienced and specialized personnel in the various engineer disciplines and specialty software.

    Cons

Fluor Houston has not been awarded with important projects recently so it's not easy for them to keep the engineering staff for a long time . So it is not promising career as an engineer in the company, mainly if you are an non-citizen alien engineer.

    Pros

Great benefits, good work schedule- 4 ten hour days Monday - Thursday . No weekends. Flexible start and end hours. Good work environment.

    Cons

Location is not close too any major cities. Is in the middle of no where. Pay scale is a little low from national average. Vacation time accrues each month by so many hrs based on years of service and is rather low as it also includes sick time and bereavement time.

    Advice to Management

Increase vacation time per month. Have separate sick time and bereavement time. Increase pay scale to at least nTional average based on years of service and years of experience.

    Pros

Great company to work for if you like to travel. Just about any training you would want to take. Great for the beginner and for the seasoned professional.

    Cons

First project available when your job contract ends. Must network to get the desired job location. Upcoming jobs not clearly communicated and location of the job is difficult to determine.

    Advice to Management

Work with the staff more to fully understand how the Fluor system works in the field and in the home office.
