    Pros

Good Pay and benefits, Flexible schedule (somewhat), a lot of peers and community.

    Cons

too big, too micro-managed and layered, hard to get recognized while at entry-level.

    Advice to Management

maximize ways of utilizing people, grow and build on strengths of employees,

Great education and advancement opportunities. Great company paid employee benefits. Professional work atmosphere, and team player environment. Family oriented company, and great retirement package.

    Cons

abrupt lay off due to project end. eadership could use some work as far as job re-placement for employees who are laid off due to unfortunate circumstances

    Advice to Management

work harder for job replacement for employees being laid off

I worked at Fluor full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Fluor is a great place to work. Wonderful benefits and great people. I highly recommend working here. Global Construction company with good job security. Sound leaders.

    Cons

My particular reason for leaving the company was lack of a challenge in my position and office "politics "after my promotion. (A common occurence, I hear from some women...why? Jealousy.) I also was offered a better offer in the same field with another company for a $12 thousand increase in salary! Make sure you investigate job market prior to settling on wages.

    Advice to Management

When innovating a position and placing an employee in a management role, insure they are qualified to manage and properly guide the employee in their new position. Also as a member of upper management, your responsibility is to have an honest overview of what is actually happening in your absence. One csnnot simply rely upon "perceptions".

    Pros

during y time there I worked under a specific project project and management team and i thoroughly enjoyed it. It was more that work and coworkers it was a family.

    Cons

Projects come to an end, managers move on new ones come in and do not necessarily embrace the company culture the same ways. It is unfortunate for the long time employees.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees, utilize the HR practices in place to assist you with retention.

    Pros

    - Compensation & benefits are good and comparable to the industry - Training and professional development is encouraged and supported whenever possible - Motivated coworkers - Every other Friday off for most office employees - Opportunities to operate within a global arena - Integrity is a priority for employees at all levels - Good vacation time

    Cons

    - Due to the size of the company, it can be difficult to influence change - especially when driven from the ground up - Despite regular increases in salary and diverse opportunities with increasing levels of responsibility, increase in job title is not as frequent in some cases

    Advice to Management

    - Especially during times of large scale organizational change, the highest level of leadership can appear disconnected from the 'front line' workforce. The opportunity to provide feedback and offer input that may be incorporated into strategic decisions would go a long way in helping all employees feel more in control of their own professional futures.

I have been working at Fluor full-time

    Pros

Fluor provides exceptional training, cross-functional experience, diverse client portfolio, top class technical teams. Many Fluor employees have celebrated over 30 years of service to the company.

    Cons

Fluor is a large organization, one of the largest EPCM companies in the world. With this, it is not as agile as some smaller competitors, and innovation and change can be harder to achieve.
