Very stressful and a lot of favoritism

Lead Food Attendant (Former Employee)
Jamaica, NY

I worked at Flying Food full-time for more than a year

ProsSteady work unless you are a regular Food Attendant in which when business is slow, hours are cut

ConsNo organization of departments, management panics often and decide to resolve problems the hard way and not the smart way, supervisors abuse and take advantage of all employees whom are mostly people from other countries where corporations are like dictators. A lot of fraternizing going on here between the big bosses and a lot of the young supervisors and food attendants. Minimum wage for maximum work and long hours. Also starting time is 5 a.m. and in the summer you are not expected to leave until around 5 p.m. and HR helps the company and not the employees. Company also offers a joke of benefits which includes a 401 k that the company does not match but provided 2% matching which is like one pay check a year and the health care does not meet obamacare standards.

Advice to Senior ManagementTreat your employees with respect and stop lying to take advantage of their fear for losing their job. Say thank you every now and then and reward the employees who do work hard.

No room for opportunity or growth

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Flying Food full-time

ProsThe work is fairly straight forward and easy. There is no real urgency required. You will learn what people are willing to help you with, and it is a place to find lots of unique problems to solve.

ConsThere is not opportunity for growth, and there is limited promotion from within. The performance of employees is not recognized relative to value added (more on time worked). There is a stark "political" structure, and recognition of idea generation or process improvement will go unnoticed. Employees and management do not like being challenged with new ideas or ways to improve productivity.

Advice to Senior ManagementRecognize employees for their value additions. All employees need to be held accountable for their own work, and attitudes. Learn to recognize new ideas and creative solutions. Adapt to everyone's personality and value positive, productive, and efficient change.
