    Pros

You can meet new people. Create friendships with your coworkers. You'll be working for a stable company. Makes a great place for a first job.

    Cons

Can reach a dead end with advancement. Managers tend to exercise favoritism. Can feel like a true daily grind. Customers can be less enjoyable sometimes.

I have been working at Food Lion part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good people to work with, a few good managers.

    Cons

Limited promotion opportunity. Low pay with very small, insignificant raises. Usually you have to know someone in order to get a manager position. People that get the "hook up" promotions usually are not good at their job and pass work and blame to you or subordinates. And of course when you voice your concerns about these employees that are not good you will get your hours cut or won't get deserved promotions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bigger raises and better opportunity for the employees that produce quality work.

I have been working at Food Lion

    Pros

Extremely flexible hours, that's about it.

    Cons

Doing your job and then some for the same horrible pay, awful and unprofessional management that enjoys making their employees look foolish, being talked down to, everyone takes their jobs seventy times too seriously, not being able to find a new job soon enough.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Actually listen when corporate complaints are called in.

I worked at Food Lion full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

You need a job. There is little to separate this company from better jobs for all your needs from an employer.

    Cons

1 percent pay raises, employees can not purchase stock, work hours limited, work schedule changes like the wind direction ( management will lie, make two schedules or whatever it takes to get out the door) wwe wrestling is real here, lots of lies and laying blame on the previous management or someone else. Most of the managers are losers as being divorced, drunkened, deceitful, two faced, non educated and they will say anything that sounds good. College grads leave. Management will run you in the ground.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

In Chester, SC they need to hire new real estate people to find them a better location. They were in the perfect location years ago and moved. There whole save a buck is going to cost them more than a buck.
