    I worked at Food Lion

    Pros

Pros- got to meet a lot of nice people. This was my first job as a 16 year old and a good first job. Just no room for growth.

    Cons

Cons- extremely low pay for all the standing up/lifting you do. Didn't get a raise until after I was there for a year and it was only a 12 cent bump.

I have been working at Food Lion

    Pros

I have none. Can do better with treating employees better. Only thing good is the sales are pretty fair

    Cons

Unfair hours, no teamwork, drama, alot of butt kissing, favoritism, unfair scheduling, dirty store, poor management and respect

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Would to see the employees get treated better and fair scheduling for grocery managers shouldn't have to close the store all the time we have family and to spend time with family occasionally instead closing 4 to 6 nights a week

  3. Clean, professional care, good products and people that care.

I have been working at Food Lion part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Good working environment, Enjoyable coworkers, clean talking and friendly toward customers. Clear understanding where product go on the shelves. Enjoyable customers that shop there.

    Cons

Some times poor communication, Penny promotions, they say they care for the employee when the employee can't pay for food or rent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember where you started in the company, to care and show and encourage people below and above you. If there are benefits show them to the people that have full-time and part time employees. Keep applying company values and show them to co-works on a regular basis.

    I worked at Food Lion

    Pros

My co-worker was hard working, trustworthy, and honest people like me. We all treated one another like family.

    Cons

The challenges were taking away the working every other weekend for the Department Heads, getting rid of the bonuses that they gave out for Christmas, and micromanaging hard working employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The upper management teams were good leader. Sometimes we may run into a new manager that had no experience, or one that had a very bad attitude.

    I worked at Food Lion

    Pros

There are a lot of older folks that love to stay loyal to the food lion brand. It's very fun interacting with these customers. The stores are usually very clean and easy to upkeep.

    Cons

The position I was best fit for was not given to me considering the shortage of employees. I was constantly called in and it was nearly impossible to leave the day I became sick at work.

  7. Raises hard to get & only 1% or 2% of your pay when you do get one.

I worked at Food Lion full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Most anyone can get employed here. A very good first job, and a job where you will learn something about retail and working with customers.

    Cons

Food lion when I was there was more concerned about getting things done than caring about your need to be with your family. It's less important when you arrive than when you leave....cause nobodies leaving until the truck gets put away.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
