Pros
Learn new technology and customers who supported my applications!
Cons
Too much politics and budy-budy relationships!
Advice to Senior Management
Management must get involved in keeping the right, talented, honest and hardworking employees! The hardworking talented people do not just work for money, they contribut to the success of the organization and that is why Foot Locker exist! It's the employees who are the pillars of any company not the CEOs!
Pros
everyone in the company i've met are awesome employees, you get faitly decent discounts, they're usually pretty good about good scheduling, and commission.
Cons
the pay is not nearly enough, employees who have been with the company for multiple years don't get raises as deserved.
Advice to Senior Management
reward your employees, they don't make nearly enough, foot locker is the mother company and the companies it owns employees make more than them, a good bit more. i've been with the company two years and never had a raise, i still make minimum wage.
Pros
Employee Discount
Working with the public
Cons
Working with the public
Low end of the totem pole
Pros
If your a sneaker freak, then this is the place to be. I loved all the sneakers and I have bought a few for myself. The staff gets a discount for purchases so that is another benefit the company provides us. The hourly rate is fair compared to other companies. The management is very friendly and would correct the lower level staff if something needs to be done proper. It was quite a good experience to work for Foot Locker.
Cons
Well sometimes the stores gets very crowded and all my colleagues and I tend to be a bit cautious since there are a few shoplifters which come and go to the store often and we have to be vigilant while at the same time serving the customers. It were quite challenging and exciting moments.
Advice to Senior Management
The stores should be given a Security Personnel to attend to unfriendly customers since the Associates are busy serving the customers most of the time.
Pros
Discount is generous. The people, and products. Always the first to try it.
Cons
Work life balance is non existent. Stressful at times to meet quotas and sales goals. Sometimes rude customers.
Advice to Senior Management
The hiring system needs improvement To attract better qualified people.
Pros
Footlocker was one of my very first jobs, and I loved it! If you love shoes, are great with people and love music then you will thrive here. Great first job out of highschool, work with a good management team and you will excel quick, be flexible in your hours, especially during the holidays and you wont regret it. Overall i loved it, only left to seek advancement and go back to school.
Cons
The hours are part time so if you need money for survival be up front with your co workers and take extra shifts. MOstly a 15 hour work week, at minium wage, but always talk to management they love it, and will work with you.
Advice to Senior Management
Promote from within your store, often times the management can be given to people from surrounding stores. Write down vacations, it's never fun when a person requests it off and it's not given.
Pros
Good discount, always updated on newest shoes, fun customers.
Cons
Will work you non stop for weeks if you are a manager, especially if someone is on vacation. Expect to work open to close at least 3 to 4 times a week. Upper management do not care about work/life balance, only care about the bottom line and making sales goals.
Advice to Senior Management
Care about your employees and they will care about the store. Compencate for jobs well done and give raises to store managers for sales increases.
Pros
young, funny environment, tons of ways to get extra pay
Cons
pressure and competition can be very high and not extremely fair
Advice to Senior Management
control better the behaviour of your employees
Pros
atmosphere, people, location. product. stability
Cons
pay, treatment, bonuses, management, surroundings
Pros
Develop communication skills, excellent sales training which can be used selling any type of product or sales floor enviornment. You'll become a good at multiple tasks.
Cons
Long hours, no life over the holidays. You can never give enough
Advice to Senior Management
Let store managers delegate tasks so their not expected to work 65+ hours a week, did I mention no overtime? When you have store keys you might as well sleep in the back room during holidays.
