I worked at Foot Locker full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The company really likes to promote from within. So, if you want to move up the corporate ladder, they will help make it happen.

    Cons

Low pay, especially compared to other companies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think the employees would do a lot better if so much was not placed on the store manager. They get stuck working 60 hour weeks and everyone else in the store gets their hours cut. Stop cutting hours in stores- especially smaller volume stores where the only person left to work is the store manager.

I have been working at Foot Locker full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I love the merchandise, the schedule flexibilityis great. I also love the advancement opportunities just not the fact I would have to move to entertain the offers.

    Cons

Corporate is too involved with reports and are unable to look beyond their spreadsheets. They really need to utilize their people tools more than their technological ones.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your store managers and work with them more than against them.

I worked at Foot Locker part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Fairly easy job, good discounts, can make money with commission

    Cons

Even with commission checks can still be low if business happens to be slow for a few days. Management tends to be under qualified, some pressure on meeting sales quotas which can cause competition amongst coworkers. Dealing with annoying, overly picky customers

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to find a way to better encourage teamwork rather than competition amongst staff.

I have been working at Foot Locker full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Fun,friendly environment you meet a lot of celebrities the discount is pretty decent

    Cons

The pay sucks...your base pay is a joke plus 1% commission which adds up to nothing if your in a low volume store.....the room for promotion is non existent unless you know someone with pull in the company

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your employees better wages and maybe your turnover rate and shrink wouldn't be so high
