    Pros

Everyone I worked with was great and worked with a purpose. I gained a great deal of knowledge about this industry.

    Cons

Its a shame the company is no longer around. The staff they had on hand did great things in a short time frame.

I worked at Force Protection full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I left FPI the day after they announced that they were selling to GDLS. Good thing for me, as I was able to escape the numerous layoffs there since then. While I was there 05-12, the company fielded many fine V hull vehicles which saved more than 10,000 lives in the Iraq and Afghanistan.

    Cons

In conversations with employees who stayed on I understand that job security is about zero, and with the latest announcement GD plans to shut it down completely.

I worked at Force Protection full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Prior to GDLS buying it wasn't a terrible place to work but once they took over I feel like everything went to crap including Employee moral. After taking over all I can say is they pay good and supply good health benefits.

    Cons

They let the good people go that actually do the work and keep the ones that don't get the job done. It really feels like they throw a hat in the center and choose a number and that is who they get rid of. That is sad when you do so much and then they say your gone.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pick people that play around rather then the good people for Reductions.

I worked at Force Protection full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Smaller firm that allows each person to contribute to overall gain and future. Leadership has been driven with focus on customer's needs. Trying hard to expand into service and support arena. Strong potential for export sales.

    Cons

Limited resources can stretch the ability to meet customer demands. Capacity limited by uncertaintly of product line future, Considered a candidtae for corporate purchase which could impact on position security

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to get out infront with customer and make investments to close the gap between capability and demands.

I worked at Force Protection full-time

    Pros

You know that you make a difference to troops and their families with life saving vehicles. The pay is very good.

    Cons

The management did not have a long-term plan for the company. The decline of MRAP sales spelled the death of Force Protection as a stand-alone company and mass layoffs with the takeover by General Dynamics. The new management team from General Dynamics is very cliquish. If you're not in the social loop, you get left behind.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

General Dynamics needs to keep what made FPI great but diversify the product base.
