    Pros

Pay and benefits are very competitive. Management is flexible to different working arrangements (flexible scheduling, telecommuting). One can see their work in action is real products.

    Cons

One must be prepared to drop everything to resolve assembly plant issues. Working in a global team requires extra care and attention to details and timing.

    Pros

As per the name of the review, Ford respects that an employee should be able to have a life outside of the work environment. This is exhibited through regular and reasonable work hours, and employees who generally head home at the end of the day either to families, or to socialize. It appears to be a reasonably secure position, with mobility between departments, and well defined expectations. There is a long company history and good brand recognition. Cafeteria is reasonable in the PDC

    Cons

You are one in an army 100k. If that troubles you, then the bureaucracy and the endless gray walls will bother you even more. There isn't even free coffee, and all coffee shops on campus close at 2PM, or right about prime afternoon coffee time. Cube walls are high enough that conversation is difficult, but people are friendly and are happy to chat to passer byes. There is little to no recycling in the facility, and they use a troubling amount of Styrofoam.

    Advice to Management

Coffee and colour (warm colours, ford blue doesn't count)

    Pros

Great Environment, Good people. Training available, good employee resources. Opportunity for growth, management involved, approachable and accessible.

    Cons

Some processes and procedures vague/outdated. Nothing bad to say beyond that, overall great place to work.

    Advice to Management

No advice to management, rather than perhaps more cross matrix team building to build relations across job functions to optimize efficiency of processes.

    Pros

Global Company, impressive brands, stable company, good people.

    Cons

Poor ERP systems, outdated process, practices and principles. Systems and processes are are to fractured and dependent on individuals not would one would expect from a global company. Entirely too many levels of management with the middle layer being the worst. Health benefits are poor for salaried personnel.

    Advice to Management

FMC needs to hire outside evaluation firm to come in and revamp process and procedures .

    Pros

the ability to work for a historic company like Ford!, very well structured onboarding process for new hires, lots of training, secure positions generally, working on/with cutting edge automotive technology and products, benefits and pay competitive,

    Cons

depending on where you work it can be a drab environment - I worked in LIvonia which was a cubicle mill. overburdened managers: engineering managers at Ford have upwards of 15 engineers working for them.

    Advice to Management

not much. great company. keep up the good work. try to work more on innovating for next gen technologies.

    Pros

Ford is a fairly sound company from a financial standpoint.

    Cons

I was hired as a financial budget control analyst. I was simple an overpaid data entry clerk with out the ability to document and recommend process enhancements or changes.

    Advice to Management

Allow employees ti di what they were hired to do.

    Pros

    - Really nice people overall - Small teams with good structuring - Good name to have on the resume - Solid projects

    Cons

    - Not a lot of room for innovation or creativity - Very few perks (lunch, freebies, etc.) - Hard to feel the company vision because of how big it is

    Advice to Management

I would focus on being a more fast-paced work environment where everyone feels involved in the same goal. It's easy to get lost in such a big place and it's a good feeling to know your work matters significantly and is having direct impact. Oftentimes for change to be implemented, there are so many bureaucratic hoops that stand in the way.
