    Pros

You can get similar merit raises to top performance coworkers no matter how lazy you are. On the other hand, top performing workers are not happy with that, but there is not much we can do because the company only gives you 1% more raise than average performing employees.

    Cons

Profit sharing is already industry-worst. And top performing employees still get 1% more raise than average employees, so nobody wants to work hard and improve.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please match our profit sharing money, AICP, with GM's 11%-of-salary payment. Compensate top performing employees better.

    Pros

As a production operator and college student the pay is above average for me to provide for myself and other expenses. You get paid every week which is a major plus!

    Cons

The hours are very long. If you are on afternoon shift get ready to sacrifice a lot of things because you will be at work majority of your evening/morning.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Raise the wages.

    Pros

Some nice people that help me forget filthy bathrooms and horrible stinky smell of the bathrooms.

    Cons

You work in horrible buildings with lots of smelly bathrooms. Insult to injury is you get the worst profit sharing bonuses every year compared to GM or FCA if you are salaried employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please renovate the Product Development Center bathrooms and HVAC systems.

I have been working at Ford Motor Company full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great company to work for along with peers who are passionate about their work. Personal growth opportunities are always available to anyone with a passion for their career an the programs they are working on. Compensation is within the norm for the industry and in some cases above. Office culture is very supportive in all aspects of projects.

    Cons

None to speak of except for some occasional office politics. I have experience more of that in other companies. That is something everyone has to deal with sooner or latter.

I worked at Ford Motor Company full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Looks great on a resume, work/life isn't too bad (unless you are in product development), learn a lot about the industry, get to rotate, tuition reimbursement (if you are ok with a 2 year committment), and opportunities to take control of projects if you are ambitious

    Cons

The greater Detroit area is absolutely miserable (surprise) and the auto industry isn't exactly dynamic or exciting

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide more chances to take on responsibility for even the young people. Also, pay people more.

    Pros

Get discounts when you buy Ford cars although better negotiations can lead better prices even without employee discount.

    Cons

Employees don't get annual lease program vouchers unlike competitors, so employee lease programs are not attractive at all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please help employees with lease downpayments like GM.

    Pros

Fun to work on auto industry to learn a lot about cars and engines.

    Cons

Directions keep changing from upper managements. Always try to copy GM benefits, but always worse than GM.

    Pros

Lots of senior engineers who are willing to help you

    Cons

Probably the best company in auto industry only if benefits are competitive

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upgrade benefit and annual bonus! CEO gets 30 million dollars as bonus whereas salaried regular employees get 5 grands (2012). That is almost 1,000 times difference, which is embarrassing!

I worked at Ford Motor Company

    Pros

Lots of smart, very dedicated, people that are trying very hard to be innovative within a company that's over 125 years old. There's a lot of respect for top management within the organization.

    Cons

I understand why Ford has the rules they have in place for contractors, but the end result is that the contractor is treated with suspicion - although it's better on some teams than others. Also, contractors are not paid any more than Ford employees even though they receive none of the benefits that Ford employees do even though they are doing the same job. It's nearly impossible to get a raise because Ford considers contractors as "hired guns" who are hired to do a single job. The reality is that no one there does only what they were hired to do. Management ignores the fact that contractors take on other roles, outside their original responsibility, and should be paid more for it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It will take a push from upper management to make any significant changes in how contractors are treated, and I just don't see that happening anytime soon.
