    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGreat Campus, Great People, training opportunities always available. This is a great company to stay with for the long haul.

    ConsNot the best health insurance.

    Decent working environment

    Claims Expeditor (Former Employee)
    Federal Way, WA

ProsThey will work with you and give you a chance, but you also need to make an effort and pull your weight.

ConsNot much growth if you're a claims adjuster out on the field. If you live in the Grand Rapids area, then maybe the sky is the limit.

Advice to Senior ManagementTell your adjusters to be clear and precise when sending financial reports to the claims processors.

ConsLong hours, bad training, company was not flexible, did not handle clearly identified problems, extensive travel

    You are on your own

    Field Claims Adjuster (Former Employee)
    Seattle, WA

ProsIf you have experience and like working independently, the job is great: flexible, pays alright and allows a lot of self-supervision.

ConsYou will not get any direction, timely feedback, consistent instruction, and the formal training is not sufficient to do the job as you are expected to. If you do not already have many years of experience and are willing to hear a lot of criticism about your decisions when it's way too late to change anything, and without any real teaching, you will probably be unhappy.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere are so many metrics that everyone is just trying to keep from being held accountable for anything at the cost of institutional learning.

    Stay Away.

    Field Claims Adjuster (Former Employee)

ProsJob security was good. There are so many claims coming in they need the claim reps to take these claims.

ConsI averaged around 7-10 claims each day. On top of that you are taking calls for about 4 hours each day, not enough time to get work done.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to your employess. Farmers and Foremost have a terrible reputation, it is time to clean it up and bring morale up.

Overall a good solid job with a fair wage.

    Claims Adjuster (Current Employee)
    Grand Rapids, MI

ProsFair and equitable in performance expectations and promotions and salaries are aligned with these expectations.

ConsThere seems to be quite a hierarchical structure in place, especially now that Foremost is a subsidiary of Farmers. In many areas, your professional growth is limited to the realm of insurance.

Advice to Senior ManagementAllow more technological innovation.

Well they are good unless they outsource us in IT

    Systems Engineer (Current Employee)

ProsA lot of nice people to work with. Many people been there a long time. The facilities are really really nice.

ConsThey are considering outsourcing all of IT. It is a decision from the parent company Farmers/Zurich. The cafeteria is way to expensive.

Advice to Senior ManagementIf you really value employees you will not outsource them. We do a lot of "unfunded" work efforts that would never get done in an outsourced environment.

If you have self motivation this is the righ job

    Adjuster (Current Employee)
    Olympia, WA

ProsFreedom if you are a field adjuster, not having a time card to punch is a great feeling. I have been given the oppurtunity to travel(not forced) to 5 states this year, giving money to those most in need. The pay is also great if you are willing to work for it

ConsIt can be a stressful job when a big storm hits, and some times the paper work gets a little tiring. there is also the occasion customer you could do without

Advice to Senior Managementkeep helping the guy below you move up even if it means he might come after your job

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
