Be The First To
20% of the CEO
Brenton L. Saunders
Pros – People are mostly friendly, educated, and intelligent. There is work for you if you are good. Upper management is insightful and know what they are doing.
Cons – Since this is a time of company merger transition, job uncertainty is prevalent. If you want to move up the ladder you need to be assertive and make your aspirations know, else you will be left behind.
Advice to Senior Management – The working business model of buying promising compounds and bringing them to market work well for Forest.
Since Howard Solomon has stepped down from the CEO position and the new president Brent Saunders has a track record of having a company he runs being bought, that is exactly what happened, in record time, less than six months of his arrival.
Pros – Forest Labs provided the opportunity to work in a variety of therapeutic areas and with global co-development partners of all sizes.
Cons – Currently very strained environment due to reorganization, downsizing and pending sale to Actavis.
Pros – Friendly, laid back environment. There is much room for growth for an admin including positions other than administrative assistants.
Cons – The company is going through a major restructuring with a new CEO and lay-offs. Not sure what type of company it will become once
Pros – Flexible work place for our department, not the same in others
Cons – Company got sold and employees are waiting to see if they have jobs...not a lot of work being done.
Pros – Very nice office environment, good location, management values opinion from all levels, good communication, good benefits, ability to move up in many groups
Cons – Limited product range is the company's biggest problem. Some managers are not good leaders. The new management is putting lot of strains.
Pros – Forest was a company that offered a great deal of rapid upward mobility to many individuals. The current change brought about by restructuring and the sale to Actavis will likely continue to create opportunities for some individuals. The diversity of Forest's product portfolio allows the company to compete in several large therapeutic areas.
Cons – Senior management failed to capitalize on the revenue windfall generated by Lexapro and Namenda in their hey-day. Clinging to an antiquated commercial sales and marketing model has negatively affected earnings growth. Conducting business "with blinders on" weakened the stock price and allowed for a takeover by Actavis.
Advice to Senior Management – If Forest will continue to function as an operating unit of Actavis it will be important to restructure senior management in sales, marketing, and contracting. The current group has proved unwilling to consider best practices executed by contemporaries in the industry. In a very direct manner this has led to the downfall of a once great sales and marketing organization. It will be imperative to introduce a culture willing to consider innovative ways of doing business in the new health care economy.
Pros – Company values were strong, work-life balance was available, picnic and great holiday parties were fun, good rapport with coworkers.
Cons – NOW... toxic, tense, unstable, unreliable - new CEO and his home-grown staff are home-grown liars.
Advice to Senior Management – You reap what you sow - you accepted a deal that has created chaos in the lives of Forest employees. Only the employees are suffering as you and your people have safely negotiated your millions. You don't feel the pain of your actions now, buddy, but what you do here, you pay for here. Don't ever fool yourself into thinking you'll be sheltered from this cruel and heartless act. Nothing is forever, remember that.
Pros – This was a great place to work.
Cons – Company was recently bought out so things will change significantly.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
Pros – Good management, a company has good potential
Cons – location, expensive living cost, stability
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
Pros – Forest used to have a great benefit package, a holiday party that spared no expense, a company-wide picnic and other perks. The culture varies depending on the department, the management and the chemistry with your co-workers. Great place for growing if you are interested in the pharmaceutical industry
Cons – It has gone through a change and the future is uncertain.
Advice to Senior Management – Be sure to recognize and reward talent.
– I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
