    Cons

Small pharma, small basket of products

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Colleagues told me that Forest had an excellent Work/Life balance compared to other pharma companies. Solid leadership at the top, good benefits package. Opportunities to learn, encouraged to attend at least one conference/training session per year.

    Cons

Inefficient operations, redundant depts and too many middle managers even after reorganization.

    Advice to Management

Company is doing well but that may be contributing to inefficiencies. It's time to cut the fat from operations and merge document/regulatory functions.

    Pros

Very nice office environment, good location, some managers value opinions from all levels (including below their own). Good benefit package. Ability to move up in many groups.

    Cons

I hear that pay is low compared to others. Have seen others reach the top in their group and then leave. Some managers aren't good leaders. Management is often not transparent about the plans and goals for the company.

    Advice to Management

Be sure managers have management experience or are trained to be good managers.

    Pros

Congenial environment, managment is up front and honest about future plans.

    Cons

Pay and benefits are very slightly lower than other leading pharmas.... but only slightly. Location in Jersey City seems to be mostly a down side but of course it depends are your specific needs.

    Advice to Management

Standards are designed and implemented but not always followed.completely.. not always clear to all levels of staff.

    Pros

Excellent place to start a career. Great place to learn.

    Cons

Below average salaries and compensations (including vacation days).

    Advice to Management

To retain talented young professionals the company needs to pay at least market average salary.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Good projects Based on research, not on crazy ideas Everyone was really nice and helpful once you get to know them I really liked a lot of the management

    Cons

Some micromanaging Too hierarchical, not enough room to make independent decsions Lots of politics that came to the forefront quickly

    Advice to Management

It would be good to treat all employees the same, the assistants are your backbone and should be treated that way.

    Pros

FOrest has good pay and good benefits. The people really do care about the company and the management seems to aswell.

    Cons

There is alot of politics and Forest seems to have a bad reputation among the sales force. Additionally, it is highly structured and you cannot advance redily before its time...

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. Keep it family friendly and keep the generous profit sharing plan in place. Also, keep the office nice!

    Pros

Nice work-family balance. Nice benefits, clean environment, nice people, decent location, minimal micromanagement from the executive level.

    Cons

SALARY!!!!! Clearly well-below average. Other than that, it would be career opportunity. They do not have a good career path for employees; therefore, we rarely retain good to excellent talent. It seems to be a "starting" place for many college graduates and then they move on. Executives seem "okay" with this concept.

    Advice to Management

Please pay people what they deserve with respect to other jobs in the same market. We have a talented group of people and it would be wise to retain best talent as opposed to train and rehire, constantly!
