    Pros

The people (sales associate wise) that work at Forever21 are AMAZING, these girls became sisters to me. All of us stayed at Forever21 for 2-3 years JUST because of each other. Even though the work environment wasn't the best, going to work seeing each other everyday was enough.

    Cons

The company itself takes advantage of the fact that it is a private company. All of the managers at my store were demoted and had there pay cut for no reason. They are soooo stingy with hours. We get hit by so many thieves it's ridiculous. The discount is also only 10%. I gave the work/life balance 5 stars because you literally get no hours so there is nothing to balance.

    Advice to Management

Acknowledge the dedication your employees show. Instead of being negative all the time, show us that you appreciate the hard work we put in every once in a while.

    Pros

fun team members, flexible hours. I liked that the store easliy worked around my school schedule every semester. The management was professional, besides the gossiping.

    Cons

snobby management, no real promotion opportunities, too high expectations. The management is all for over working you and not being understanding. We were actually told that even if our parent was terminally ill and we showed documentation, we could not take a day off with being written up. Two write ups and you're gone. There's also only a 10% discount.

    Pros

easy interview process. they were open interviews in the mall hiring anybody to get their stors open by the grand opening. I recommend this company to high School students only

    Cons

the position i went for was misleading. i applied for the visual merchandiser assistant so when a visual merchandiser position became available It would be a easy transition. however, I was misled my check stub states sales rep instead of visual merchandiser assistant. I requested fulltime and received parttime however they continued to hire people giving everyone less than 15/hrs a week. The managers didn't know anything. the store was a disaster.

    Advice to Management

hire people who has a college degree or someone with great management experience

    Pros

    Flexible Schedule, kinda.
Cheap clothes... low quality of course

    Cons

    Poor Management
Can't do anything on registers without managers approval
Poor discount 10% OFF regular priced items
    TINY back room
Too much shipment for one store
    Over filling floor
Schedules get messed up a lot
10 minute (paid) break for up to 5hr shifts
     MISCOMMUNICATION
    Unrealistic expectations
     No training
OMG turn over is crazy! Even the management

    Advice to Management

STOP BEING SO CHEAP!!! I understand the goal is money money money, but really. I can't clean, do go-backs, and customer service all at the same time for a long time. This company needs a whole makeover. Top to bottom. It's one of the oldest privately owned companies in the world but it just sucks at running successful stores.

    Pros

discount on already low priced clothes, cute trendy, super fun coworkers, some really hard working coworkers, cool music to listen to (top 40), super lenient on vacation time (as long as you do it 2 weeks in advance)

    Cons

only 10% discount, starting pay is 8.50, raises come after a year, part timers don't get any benefits, promotions get you like a dollar or two more, little to no training (like 5 minutes at the start of your first shift if you're a sales), some coworkers are lazy as hell and you have to do double the work, they expect you to work crazy shift hours (overnights/10 hour shifts),

    Advice to Management

Be open to advice, promote more internally, offer more training to all employees

    Pros

    some pleasant coworkers
    fast-paced
    The music

    Cons

Where do I begin? Every retail location I have come upon, I have never experienced the open disapproval that I experienced by the management at this store. When I worked here, I was a student. I carried a full class-load while taking three music lessons and auditioning in the city. Due to many, many conflicts, which I pointed out during my interview, I had to keep calling people to cover my shift and then, eventually, people took my outside conflicts as me just being lazy when that was not the case at all. I covered many shifts as well. The management, however, seemed to focus on the shifts I had to change or was late to. The head manager, Amanda is cool as were some of the co-managers. There was one manager, however, that would shop on the job, use foul language and nothing you did was fast enough. I eventually had to carry a piece of paper and make a list. She would be all friendly with you until you made her angry and she became unsatisfied with your performance. I really wanted to like my job here, but I was jumping for joy the day I was forced to quit because my car broke down and I would not be able to stay for the last half hour of my shift, therefore I had to quit because a partial shift is considered a "no call/ no show". HR, seriously re-write some of these policies and stop treating us like we work in one of your sweatshops...while you're at it, stop treating those that work in your sweatshops that way as well. This place is simple: cold, hard capitalism. No respect for personal life or family, everything must be cleared by the warden.

    Advice to Management

Amanda, get rid of your staff and hire competent employees who care about the workers under them. Also, scheduling needs major overhaul.
