Pros
being around clothes all day is a plus, co-workers are cool and fun to be around, atmosphere is upbeat and cool, they play good music,
Cons
pay is terrible, hours are always being cut, managers so nothing all day but yell at associates, very clicky and drama filled, you are a maid at this job
Advice to Senior Management
Stop over hiring, pay more attention to employees, stop doing bag checks, increase pay rate, have a open door policy
Pros
Great people, Cheap merchandise, learning experience
Cons
bad communication, overworked, under appreciated
Advice to Senior Management
have better communication
Pros
Hours! They worked around my school schedule.
Cons
Love who I worked for!!! SOME of the mangers were very supportive & we became friends, some managers were downright rude!
Advice to Senior Management
Stop being so rude to your staff. It's inapproporiate & downright uneccessary!
Pros
Fashionable clothes; Good music to listen to while working; Able to grow with company if wanted
Cons
Working longer shifts if no one is available to work; Staying to clean up 2 hours or more after the store closes; 10% discount is not really that good
Advice to Senior Management
Communicate with your team more; Be more flexible with hours;
Pros
That the company has great ways to make cheap clothes look expensive, putting them into lifestyles. The company is more lay back and meeting customers is fun.
Cons
There's no structure in the company and sometimes no growth, they take forever to promote. No communication with the management team at times. Some of them need management training, and alot of favoring.
Advice to Senior Management
Talk to your employees, some of them dont even know everyone names. Speak to them like human beings, not has if they are your children. To get respect your have to give.
Pros
There was fun music and cute clothes. I enjoyed my co workers. I learned a lot about retail and how to work in high stress situations. I a lot learned a lot about fashion.
Cons
It was an impossible job. There was never enough payroll or support to accomplish what was expected. The company did not seem to care much for its employees. It was very disorganized.
Advice to Senior Management
Give some more support to your store teams, they are selling the clothes that are making the company money and if they dont feel appreciated they wont give the customers the best shopping experience.
Pros
you can gain excellent retail experience
Cons
managers are unprofessional, and give less hours
Advice to Senior Management
Need to stop favoring people and give everyone equal amount of hours!
Pros
Surrounded by fashion, parking pass for managers, work with different personalities and backgrounds
Cons
Pay, hrs, senior managemt communication is awful. You don't get any support from senior managers when you handle a customer who is harassing you in a "the customer is not always right" mentality. When a customer is threatening you and your employees, you'd think you wouldn't get criticized by management for how you handle the situation. They only stand behind you if you actions result in a 3.4 unit transaction regardless of the situation. Senior managers don't communicate we'll with store managers so when something goes wrong, they yell at you even though you had no clue what their expectations were. They constantly said I was their hardest worker but the pay increase they offered me was a slap in the face. It's all about money regardless the sacrifice. They barely give you hrs to divide amongst you employees which results in high turnover. The pay for sales associates is awful. I tried to get higher wages for hard workers approved with no success. I had to higher at least two new people every week because people would just stop showing up. I would then get yelled at for employees quitting. If I'm a college student working only 4-12 hrs a week for $7.25, I wouldnt want to work either. I worked there for 4 yrs off and on while in college then I was an assistant manager for 1.5 yrs so I saw it all and believe me, it wasn't pretty.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop being so cheap and pay your managers the money they deserve. Get the proper technology so the computers won't go down every five seconds. Don't expect your workers to be chipper when you're only giving them a 30min break for a 9hr shift in which they can't even leave the store half the time. Give stores more hrs to work with or continue to expect employees to "no call no show"
Pros
The managers were easy to get along with, most employees tend to be young and outgoing, you get an employee discount.
Cons
All night/late afternoon shifts goes over 1am. I worked at a big store so it sometimes took longer. No one is allowed to leave until EVERY piece of clothing was put back in it's place. Customers are terrible to deal with, throws clothes all over the floor. The discount is only 10%. Working there was a really bad experience.
Advice to Senior Management
Please let the employees leave earlier, maybe the morning shift could help out more? (morning shift is extremely easy)
Pros
would be the co-workers. they're the reason why i still work there. beside that i would say nothing else i can think of.
Cons
treats workers like sweat shops
Advice to Senior Management
you should give everyone a fair chance. i notice only people who would kiss ass would get more hours. which isn't fair to other people.
