    I worked at Forsyth Institute

    Pros

The people here are very nice. They collaborate on projects when they can and will do their best to help you if it is within their power to do so

    Cons

Things do move pretty slowly, and there is usually some grumblings among employees, especially at the lower levels.

  2.

No leadership, senior scientists resting on past and riding the gravy train,

I have been working at Forsyth Institute full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Great benefits and flexibility. Impressive Microbiology dept., a handful of really good scientists.

    Cons

CEO has no business skills, senior scientists are not invested in future of institute, mentoring, or being part of team, lots of old research that isn't going anywhere, Board doesn't understand organization, organization hasn't evolved to meet changing demands of scientific research and funding. Seems like a merger would be the only path to long term success. There is also a divide between scientists and non-science staff. Really awful culture

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Forsyth Institute full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

compensation, health plan, retirement, vacation plan,

    Cons

political, unprofessional, dictatorship, all aspects need to be run by CEO before any decisions can be made, BOD not aware of the real goings on need to pay more attention

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

until the CEO and upper management go the institute will sink further and further and evidentially will be no more

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
