- Large bonuses for exceptional work.
- Great positive impact. You get to see how your work helps major companies and institutions around the world become more secure.
Cons
- Very fast paced environment; it's not a relaxed atmosphere.
- Growing pains as we get out of start-up mode.
Advice to Senior Management
As we grow, try to keep the small company feel for as long as possible. Yes to meritocracy, no to politics.
Pros
*Management is very hands off with employees and places a lot of trust in everyone in the team.
*Work hours are pretty flexible and people are allowed to work from home.
*Leader in the product space of application security
*Products are excellent and used in many important parts of the world
*Very casual work environment (at least in San Mateo headquarters)
*Nice office space at headquarters in San Mateo
Cons
*There isn't a lot of room for advancement since it is a small company. Most people stay in the same role for many years. People have left due to the stagnation in career advancement.
*There can be crunch time close to release where people work on weekends and nights
*No 401k matching
*Bonus/compensation changes are unclear
*Lack of a solid standardized process, but this is improving.
Advice to Senior Management
Make bonus/raises policies more clear. Current yearly evaluation system is not very transparent.
Pros
Lots of money; great compensation
Cons
Chronic lack of organization within Fortify.
Products are barely tested and sales teams rule with an iron fist.
Upper management is completely unapproachable.
People are treated like dogs in terms of number of hours to work each week.
Advice to Senior Management
Be more approachable
