    Pros

Huge learning curve, great industry knowledge, positive team culture, teams that like to work hard / play hard, smart people with a desire to do what's right and willingness to train newer staff.

    Cons

The hours are demanding during critical times in the month / quarter depending on which group you are part of. Sometimes you run into political drama at the higher levels that trickles down to staff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep doing what you're doing. You set a positive tone for the staff below you.

    Pros

Treat employees right and have a great working environment that is never quiet by any means. Also working at a top firm has its advantages.

    Cons

Only con I can personally think of is the horrible toilette paper they have in the bathrooms. It's the equivalent of wiping your bum with sandpaper.

    Former Employee - Summer Intern

    Pros

The firm has a great culture and team environment. They really incorporate interns into everyday work and projects. There are also many intern events that are a great way to meet the other interns and learn about other parts of the businesses.

    Cons

Long hours at times, but that's expected at a firm like Fortress. There is also access to upper management and MDs which is nice.

    Liquid Markets Summer Analyst

Former Employee - Capital Formation Group Summer Analyst  in  New York, NY
Former Employee - Capital Formation Group Summer Analyst in New York, NY

    Pros

Learn a lot and get lots of exposure to a variety of markets.
Small teams and lots of access to VPs and MDs.
Got to do "real" work as an intern on Wall St... most other summer analysts can't say the same.

    Cons

Culture is a very aggressive one. If you are not a cultural fit (i.e. very aggressive personality) will not fit into this particular group. However, this group is not representative of other groups at Fotress.

Former Employee - Software Engineer in New York, NY

    Pros

    Great work environment
Employees are taken good care of
Get to learn lot of new technologies, they won't hesitate to put in capital for the applications
Small IT team hard work is recognized very well, juniors' ideas are also heard.

    Cons

    Less work life balance.
    24/7 critical support applications.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

IT teams and applications, more application learning sessions should be conducted so that more departments drop the act of maintaining separate IT teams and come under one roof for better results and savings.
