I worked at Foundation Financial Group full-time

    Pros

    - Company Culture
    - Great training and support
    - Continuous refreshers on a weekly basis
    - Bonus structure for licensed employees
    - Atmosphere and co-workers were great
    - Philanthropic involvement
    - Benefits
    - Clearly defined promotion track

    Cons

    - Saturdays required sometimes
    - Pay was only "OK" unless you hit bonus
    - Some managers like to mricro-manage which can stunt your growth as a professional
    - Too much focus on "the numbers" ,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Biggest advice would have been to embrace purchase loans and not focus soley on refinancies, as the market is/was turning away from them.
    - Great job on the company culture, it really felt like there was a level of caring and concern that isn't present in many places. Keep up the great work.
    - Be honest about Satrudays, they are a punishment for not hitting sales targets, don't insult people by trying to dress mandatory Saturdays up as an "opportunity" to bring in business, the numbers don't support that notion.
    - Speaking of numbers; sales numbers work over time, but in a particular 2hr time span the numbers don't always pan out. Save the threats and lofty speeches for weekly, or monthly reviews and don't sweat small inconsistencies throughout the day

I worked at Foundation Financial Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Positive and supportive team environment. Modern equipment in most offices.

    Cons

A bit of a pressure cooker. However, biggest con now is that the company is mostly out of business except for one remaining office in Jacksonville FL.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hopefully the company can be rebuilt to its former glory.

I worked at Foundation Financial Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

There aren't any pros, at all.

    Cons

Long Hours, 9a-7p, with an hour and a half lunch.
Call it what it is, Telemarketing
Mislead through the entire process, told people took an interest in refinancing their mortgage with us, but when called - they were like...uhhhhh who are you?
Required to make at least 100 calls/day, with only 15 leads, that's nearly impossible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Be honest.

I worked at Foundation Financial Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

There really aren't any good reasons to work there. I can speak from personal experience that the pay as a trainee is better than quicken, but that's about it.

    Cons

I was fired for reasons that are completely unknown to me. After having the most successful track record as a trainee in the company by achieving the most referrals (and receiving two "cornerstone" awards exemplifying that fact) I was terminated. When asked why, I was told "because of an email you sent." Knowing I've never sent an inappropriate email I ask which email and the response was "you know what you sent." I made the company so much money and they decided that wasn't enough to have the common decency to tell me why I was getting fired. Horrible culture, or I should say NO CULTURE.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn how to take care of your employees. There was no sense EVER that the management cared about anything but making money. Probably why they shut down 90% of the company a year ago known as the "branch network."

    Pros

Good people work here and liked the contests they had. Some were quarterly and some were weekly.

    Cons

Management were not easy to work with, time off is very hard to take, work hours are too long.

    Pros

will hire anybody, one of the only companies in the mortgage lending industry that has a pre loan officer position (marketing professional or management trainee), will get you licensed in multiple states

    Cons

bad leads, you will be calling 40 internet leads 2-4 times a day whom are also being called by quicken loans and 2 or 3 other companies who bought the same lead. Its like a slave ship, you will be micro-managed to the T, They check numbers 4x a day based on how many calls, credit pull etc you got EVERY call block. There are a lot of politics as managers give their favorite employees better leads. You will more than likely end up with a license NOT in the state you live, so if you go the jacksonville, savannah or atlanta (the main offices) but you are only licensed in virginia no other bank or company in the city will hire you because you cant practice in the state and banks are all about local business, so you cant just leave. Go there, use them to get licensed and get a year or 2 of experience and keep moving. They just did a ton of lay offs the end of 2013, my old managers ended up asking me to help them get jobs, now they are rehiring because they redid the pay structures and they can keep their old people because they keep cutting they pay and changing the bp payouts on the loans.

I worked at Foundation Financial Group full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

There was a time when goals were attainable and making $ was easy for those that worked for it. IF you could handle the management staff and all the ridiculous expectations of what they "thought" worked.

    Cons

Owners lied over and over. Stated they pride themselves on how they will not lay off people (during an EXPO event). Stated the company was ok in Dec of last year- only to start laying off in less than 30 days from that statement. Criminal really!!!!
    Management were mostly ego maniacs
Not even close to a corporate structure.
Seemed as if they were flying by the seat of their pants.
    Changed compensation constantly.
Kept people on board out of obligation . BIG mistake. Over and over.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ensure you can do what you are asking of others.
Ensure you are willing to do what you are asking of others.
    LISTEN
Stating good job exactly the same way for the same results is a bit inauthentic - as are the owners.
