  1. FES is a great place to gain meaningful experience

    Former Intern - Anonymous Intern

I worked at Foundation for Ecological Security as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Interesting projects

Work with your supervisors allows you to feel like you are truly making a difference.

    Cons

There seems to be a lot of turnover of employees, but this is probably true for most environmentally based NGOs

  2. Not a good place to work.

    Pros

Pros apply only if you are a psycopath (Like most of the key people there). Otherwise your frequency won't match. In other words if you are -
    1. Good at demotivating people.
    2. Take credit for other's work
    3. Be good at maintaining so called 'good relations' with the key people i.e. praise them, bootlick them, make yourself small in front of them, be nice to them and similar things
    4. Expect same behaviour from people who are in your team and if they don't bow down, label them as 'inefficient'.

If you have all these qualities (which majority of people posses on earth presently), then there are only pros of working here.

    Cons

I have already mentioned in 'Pros'. If you are a normal, mentally fit individual, you won't be able to work here for long. Conditions will be made for you to resign.

    Advice to Management

The management won't last long with the kind of 'habits' they have developed. They will probably end up in jail or mental asylum (where they belong actually).

  3. Only good for gaining field experience on natural resource management and Commons

    Pros

For FRESHERS -- Good for gaining field experience and learn from the rich community practices .
Since there is no review or monitoring of your work, this is the best place to be employed and simultaneously pursue your preparation for your dream career. Quality of your work is seldom questioned.

    Cons

Company values differ from time to time. It changes on the whims and fancies of the top management.
Planning and coordination at higher management though good, at the lower levels, as in the teams chaos management is all that is done. The work that most teams have been pursuing for the last few years lack innovation.

    Advice to Management

Top Management is a White Elephant .
They need to wake up from slumber and review that they seldom practice within the organisation what they preach to village communities.

    Pros

An opportunity to working with community through addressing issues like "Eco-restoration", "livelihood", "securing as well as revitalizing of Commons" towards sustainable and equitable development.

    Cons

FES may not be able to satisfy your expectation regarding remuneration to a certain extent, rather you can have ample opportunities to enrich yourself in diversified field.

  7. Pathetic. It one of the worst NGOs to work. The senior management works on its whims.

    Pros

Nothing. There are no Pros of working at a place which is driven by people who don't care about the organizational goals and promote only bootlickers.

    Cons

There are only downsides from the time you start to the time you leave the organization.

    Advice to Management

    See a psychiatrist.
