I worked at Framingham State College as a contractor

    Pros

The people, the community, the relationships. If you get in a union job, it's yours for life. Always trying to be on the cutting edge.

    Cons

If you aren't union, good luck. Waiting for someone to die or retire to go fulltime. No benefits, part time pay full-time expectations. Management that only serves to promote itself.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Purge. Look at your assets, and cut the dead weight.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Framingham State College

    Pros

The people make it worth it. State work so it's pretty secure if you're full-time exempt. Benefits are decent. Can maintain a positive work life balance. Pensions are still a possibility.

    Cons

Relatively small so not much room to move up unless you're really patient. No raises or cost of living increases in a long time. Unions are required and don't do much of anything for employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Doing pretty well overall
