Pros – Nice people overall and the culture is somewhat blasé, in my department anyway. The benefits are nice and the company does try to help wherever they can as far as work/life balance.
Cons – Outsourcing isn't fun. Attitudes since "Global-sourcing" started have gone from laid back and fun oriented to downright apathetic. Many people who fit the new job roles left the company due to lack of communication by management about how the "new model" would work or is supposed to work. The only people left are those who are angry if they have to work after five or are in it for school or certifications to be paid for by the company so they can move on to better, higher paying jobs.
Advice to Senior Management – Communicate from the top down. Seems like all information stops at middle management. Promote better communication and move out of the 1980’s and into the present (or at least the 90’s) with software. Recent “big deal” was ability to video conference globally… sad… so sad…

I worked at Franklin Resources
Pros – Job for life, if you are mediocre you can get by very easily with out being canned
Cons – Disjointed company, rivalry between divisions, poor pay, clueless management, lip service to initiatives
Advice to Senior Management – Pay more, hire better people, if somebody has been at the firm for their working life dont see that as an endorsement of your family values ask yourself why they cant get another job. Cut the dead wood
