    Cons

Collaborative culture, friendly management disposition, beautiful campus centrally located between San Francisco and the South Bay, high value services, talented and smart employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep doing what you are doing, but a bonus of $100K would be nice, just because it would be nice.

    Pros

There are numerous smart and friendly coworkers who care about doing good work. Working for a global company is exciting and provides occasional good opportunities. If you are moderately competent and want to cruise along in the slow lane, this would be a good place for you.

    Cons

The combination of the company being basically a family business with the constant promotion of length of service as an important value has created a working environment that is completely encumbered in politics and layers of bureaucracy. Projects that typically take months elsewhere take years at FTI.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

With such entrenched management, you've created a culture of fiefdoms where no one really has meaningful communication, and the main motivation is protecting one's territory. The enormous fear of risk and/or failure has manifested itself in a pervasive reactive management style where people hide behind committees and group think. Sadly, you have become your own worse enemy, at a time where there is rapid and disruptive growth in the financial services industry across many fronts.

    Pros

Nice 401k match. 3 week vacation time with 3 floating days. Morale is pretty good and everyone is very nice and friendly. The benefits are pretty good overall, and there is a gym on-site.

    Cons

Lack of room for growth and movement. Most movements were very lateral. Depends on the role and the department, the work environment can vary from one spectrum to another. Unfortunately my team was one with very long hours and way below industry pay. There is no work-life balance. Although education assistance is provided to advance your career, without the time to study it doesn't do any good. With the size of the company the impact of one person feels very small.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More resources should be given to teams that are under-staffed.

    Pros

Chilled environment. Good work - life balance. Leadership was great while I was there. Learnt and grew a lot under their flagship. For me401k benefits were very good. Same goes for stock - options, time-off and on-site facilities (GYM, Cafeteria, Parking). The best team I ever worked for. Derived positive inspiration & influence from my leads. I can rank my team, as high on creativity and organizational skills.

    Cons

Few knuckle heads in certain departments. But are tolerable, as those kind of LCD (Lowest Common Denominator) are everywhere. Promotions are tricky.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please connect to right talent in the team and consider them as valuable asset. Everyone wants to do good job and receive recognition for it. Don't waste their enthusiasm and productive age

    Pros

Franklin Templeton is a strong business, built on strong core values. I believe the management does an excellent job expressing this on to their employees. There are a lot of friendly people throughout the organization, and it really helps to build important peer connections.

    Cons

There is a hard standard to be promoted, so don't expect to get promoted after a year (even two). Definitely some office politics, but what corporate job doesn't?

    Pros

Loved the size of the company - mid sized - international exposure, profitable, good benefits, excellent cafe, workout facility, ample parking, nice facilities, near shopping, near freeways

    Cons

Lack of collaboration and inclusion, and common goals seem to be lacking. No one comes out of their offices, has coffee or lunch together, or seems to like one another. Lack of encouraging words but ample criticism and back-biting culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get it together, create an inclusive environment, and value your employees. Understand your employees skills and give them a voice commensurate with their organizational level.

I have been working at Franklin Templeton Investments full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Stable company with good healthcare benefits. Fairly well-organized internally. Involved in the community. Offers career opportunities globally. Has many long-term employees. Good bonus structure.

    Cons

Extremely traditional, very corporate, conservative, large and very slow moving. Many navigate internal processes and protocols that are not easy or quick to navigate. Offers only traditional benefits and perks for employees and not enough. Salaries are not competitive; most are at the low end of the range. Career pathing is not clear and often stunted because of the many long-time employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider 360 reviews so that all employees can review leaders and provide input. Give employees and individual contributors an opportunity to provide more feedback in a safe environment so leaders can be better informed and make decisions based on what is happening on the ground versus information that is diluted as it makes its way to the top.
