    Pros

Growing company, lots of users, high impact work, love my coworkers. It's a product that is changing the world.

    Cons

Not an easy job, changes impact millions of users which can sometimes be very stressful.

    Advice to Management

I would recommend this company to a friend - I'm optimistic about the outlook.

    Pros

Laid back work environment, great work life balance, flexible schedule

    Cons

Due to conservatorship there was uncertainty about the direction of the company. There weren't many new technology initiatives and focus was mainly on maintaining the systems, so there were not many advancement opportunities in technology.

    Advice to Management

I don't know if management can do much as they have to follow the direction set by the conservator, until congress figures out what to do with GSEs there doesn't seem to change much.

    Pros

I worked with Freddie from my junior year in college.
    - If you land with the right team, its is the best
    - Good work life balance (there can be some OT, but there is also good amount of down time

    Cons

    - No more IT rotational program
    - Management never brings in fresh ideas or faces, they always recycle
    - Young employees are not being given enough opportunities to grow/move within the company

    Advice to Management

The company is in a limbo. If you do not want to loose people left and right you really really really need to promote the younger people from within. There are a BUNCH of smart young people at freddie, however the lack of opportunity to move up is very disheartening. Ultimately, that is what made me leave.

  9. Overall, my experience is going well.

    Pros

It's technology analyst program is very helpful for grads right out of college. Great work life balance, flex scheduling with 40 hour weeks with overtime pay. Freddie's also gives you an opportunity to go out and get training/certificates you are interested in.

    Cons

With being in conservatorship, it's hard to tell what the future holds. Also, under conservatorship, it is harder to move up in the company with moving to a different area. Also company doesn't have any big rewards to employees.

    Advice to Management

Work on trying to opportunities for your younger talent so they don't leave the company. This inturn allows a less reliance on consultants and thus saving money in the long run
