Pros – Employees are trusted.
Employees are invested in - traveling, conferences, classes, etc.
Free Food.
Employees can expand their skills easily because there are a lot of projects to get involved in.
Employees grow quickly because some members of upper management are great subject matter experts and invest their time in educating employees.
Cons – Young co-workers leads to an unproductive work environment at times.
Developer driven company is risky and can, and sometimes does, lead to poor business decisions.
Decisions are skewed towards what the parent company, Rakuten, would like rather than what's good for FreeCause.
No investment in research.
Advice to Senior Management – Invest in research rather than purely basing decisions on intuition or money a client is promising.
Internships are a means of testing out an employee before hiring them, and is supposed to be a process to reduce the risk of hiring a poorly performing employee. We waste money and time training new interns when it would be lower cost and risk to hiring some on.
The budget blinds upper management. We need resources but do not want to report to Rakuken that we went over budget. The business suffers because of this.

Pros – Since we're still a small, new company, there is a lot of freedom to improve, create new process, and be involved. There are lots of little perks like Costco runs, company events, and Monday meetings.
Cons – Since we're still a small, new company, there is a lot of freedom which can carry over to lack of accountability and responsibility.

Pros – FreeCause is full of talented, driven individuals who know their stuff. It's also a place that balances hard work and fun - be it a relaxed dress code, a well stocked kitchen, fun monthly activities and much more.
Cons – With hard work comes non-traditional hours, so people need to be prepared to put in the work required which can result in some later nights.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep investing in people because they are what makes FreeCause stand out from other companies. Make sure there are plenty of training and development opportunities to help foster learning.

In addition, the work is exciting, the people are young, and everyone here works hard. FreeCause is a great environment to work in.
