    Pros

Growth opportunities, general transparency, high-octane environment. A lot of smart people who are mission-aligned and enjoy the work

    Cons

not great for anyone uncomfortable with uncertainty or vague goals. it's very much a start up environment.

    Pros

Great mission to help freelancers and promote the sharing economy. The place is pretty laid back and doesn't come with the stress as if working for larger companies.

    Cons

Leadership in tech / IT group is very lacking. Their SDLC process is something you witness at very early start-ups, but considering they've been doing this for years they should be not be where they are at now. There is no growth opportunity at Freelancers, benefits/perks are sub-par compared to other places, not much training for new employees, and they don't have any type of structure to speak of. Also don't expect to be challenged to your limits.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring in strong managers who can actually lead.

    Cons

Lack of consistency with promotions/pay grades, mission, and culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The organization needs to transition from a small non-profit to a growing company with a non-profit and an insurance company.

    Pros

Freelancers Union has commitment to improving the well-being of all workers; it offers a sense you're making the world a better place for everyone.

    Cons

It's a great building in a great location but the open floor plan is annoying. It's not unlike anything else in New York City, so it's not really a complaint, it's just how it is.

    Pros

The atmosphere, the sense that you're working on something bigger than you, the fact that everybody in New York knows you and thinks you're hip.

    Cons

Incompetent people get promoted to the top. It's turning into a traditional insurance company. Having friends who got screwed over by the insurance company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Come up with a pay scale.
