    Great overall compensation

    Systems Architect (Current Employee)

Pros- Great salary and bonus structure
    - 401(k) plan is superb
    - Business is profitable and has made major acquisitions in the past year.

Cons- Some projects seem to be selected independently of core business needs
    - Political structure can be difficult to navigate for some employees
    - High ratio of contractors to employees

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus on increasing the communication throughout all tiers of the organization - great ideas exist in some of the lower level employees but are frequently suppressed by the voice of upper management

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Great company, very confused department

    MIS Intern (Former Employee)
    Phoenix, AZ

    Pros-Benefits
    -Work/life balance
    -Technology support offered
-Company perks(fitness center, beverages, catered lunches, etc.)

Cons-Way too many directors and senior management
-"Entry level" positions are outsourced to contractors
-Many upper employees are reluctant to use the technology offered

Advice to Senior ManagementCreate more entry level positions and hire full time employees to fill them. Promote from within the company and stop hiring managers/directors from the outside. This will alleviate confusion and deviation from the department's mission.

A good place to develop professionally

    Metallurgist Intern (Current Employee)
    Safford, AZ

ProsHas a good knowledge base, is generally interested in developing their employees, pay is pretty good. Good work/life balance, flexible vacation policy.

ConsHave to live in a mining town, which isn't terribly great for single people. If you are from an urban area it can be jarring to transition to the remoteness of some locations. Workplace politics exists. Some assigned projects can be extremely rote and menial.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep doing what you're doing with respect to hiring. Take some steps to tighten down frivolous expenditures and bring task priority across different divisions into better focus. Fighting over "turf" is not healthy.

Worst place to work as a young engineer or a starter.

    Mine Engineer (Current Employee)
    Morenci, AZ

ProsComplex mine and you can learn alot.

Consif you are liked by management you can get all the opportunities you want while other are left behind. Warning! Racism exist at all level at the Morenci mine especially if you work at the engineering office. If you are Black this is not a place to venture.

If you are hard working you can learn alot on you own even if you are not trained or developed by the management team there. Only the liked light skinned get opportunities to grow and develop.

They dont respect engineers here especially if you are international or on H1B. Run form this place if you can.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe fair and open to every human being u deal with. Stay in line with corporate polices when dealing with ppl careers or life.

Great potential encumbered by good old boy network.

Business Solution Architect III (Current Employee)
    Phoenix, AZ

ProsVery positive employee benefit package. Compensation structure is very good. Side benefits like commuting assistance, lunches, free drinks and event tickets are a ncie touch.

There is plenty of work that is interesting and challenging.

ConsDue to the bonus structure in the exempt and senior management ranks there seems to be some misdirection of efforts and projects. The structure is based not on Management by Objectives or clear expectation and employment reviews, but on a group of directors saying yes or no to each bonus. So, if you do not interact with the directors, or if you do not jump up to appease them and their whims, it hurts your chances for a good bonus.

Advice to Senior ManagementInstil a more formalized annual employee review process. Add structure and clear expectations so that we can move forward on the things that the company deems importatnt, not the weekly whims of the directors.
