Pros
1. Full ASIC Design cycle gets executed at this site.
2. One of the few Semiconductor companies in NCR Region
Cons
1. Very low emphasis on development of employee
2. Very Poor management and aggressive schedule.
3. low benefits.
4. Incompetent HR
Pros
It has a good product line the networking market with lot of potential for innovation. Ethics of the company is good and there is an environment for good work and life balance.
Cons
Rewarding for people with research experience and depth of knowledge in the field is not that great. This could be specific to the site I work in. There is a general lack of value of specific skillsets and tendency to manage out with whatever resources are available. This affects the quality of work.
Advice to Senior Management
Value specific skillsets and research talent across all divisions in the company. Without this the company is not going to make quality products in time.
Pros
Good Salary,
No timing restrictions
No work pressure(in fact in many teams there is no work)
Cons
Politics, Politics Politics and only Politics in India.
Growth based on your relation building skills
Good chance of promotions if you are technically dumb.
Fear of financial failure as the DEBT MOUNTAIN is huge
No hope for future
Advice to Senior Management
Dont pay people for politics, Do something to get company going.
Pros
Great work culture. I made great friends at Freescale and that includes my supervisors.
The interaction with international teams is very high and you learn a lot.
The cpmpany is young and there is an atmosphere of great energy.
Cons
The professional growth is limited to technical only. It will be a long time before you manage a team.
Also, after a few years one starts getting jaded with the same work. But I guess thats the nature of this profession.
Opportunities to work in other design centres are very low.
Advice to Senior Management
Be more transparent in their decisions. Often, the projects were dropped when the employees were in the last stages of the project.
Pros
Lot of good things can be done here that you have already done before.
Cons
Slow decision making, not the best people in decision making. People don't want to change and open to realty.
Advice to Senior Management
Please dont just fill positions at mid level management. Please bring in people that are best in the industry. The old guys have already rusted, need to bring in new guys.
Pros
good work and oppurtunities for growth......................................
Cons
layed back people and managment. Risk talking ability is low. too much process oriented.
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on building expertise rather than cutting cost. With some many projects being done, Freescale lacks techincal people like Architects to take the group forward. FSL have lot of good people but again all are all multiplexing between several projects..
