    I worked at Fremont Bank

    Pros

The money was good for being just an intern

    Cons

I felt bad for the other employees that made just a dollar or so more than I did and had been there several years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase salaries to be within the area averages.

  3.

Nepotism and favoritism is high. Slow growth within the company.

I worked at Fremont Bank part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Family atmosphere and helpful co-workers.

    Cons

HR is not dependable, disorganized department, and talent management is not that helpful.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire talented and dependable HR. Consider to be more realistic of your sales goal to avoid creating quantity than quality customer and profit for the company.

I have been working at Fremont Bank full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Occasional free lunches. Free things with a Fremont Bank logo on it.

    Cons

*Management making promises like Full-time permanent and then being laid off over the phone two months later.
*Really cliquey people who won't talk to you unless you are in a certain group. Just like the 8th Grade.
*Being hired for the Hayward Office and then transferring you to Livermore with no pay bump.
    Cheap.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees with respect and stop outsourcing to India.,

I worked at Fremont Bank as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

    It was a job,
    learned a lot

    Cons

The "FOB" (Friends of the Bank) favoritism; members of the family nepotism rampant.
Folks have worked here for as long as I have been alive; stagnant and set in their ways.
Lack of support & buy in from IT or Security teams; all reactive with no proactive support.
Some business units act as rogue, acting out on their own ignoring Bank policies and compliance standards.
Business units dictate technical solutions; setting themselves up for failure.
Someone not getting what they want, standard excuse "the bank is losing money" - with no metrics or business case to support.
    Outsourced help desk.
Hayward Ops center has not been painted or updated in years. Drab & depressing work environment in the middle of an industrial park. HQ in Fremont is nicer (no surprise).
The bank owned house on the beach and the jets cost money; now you know where the profits are going.
Compensation & benefits is not inline with Silicon Valley standards; hence the quality of coworkers reflect.

I worked at Fremont Bank full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    No 60 hour work weeks

    Cons

Management egos are out of control and this employer is very cliquey. If you are not in the "inner circle", it's only a matter of time before they banish you. Very low pay for anyone not in the inner circle. Kissing up and backstabbing is what get rewarded at Fremont Bank. You will not be rewarded for competence! Instead it is punished.
