I have been working at French Connection full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Great fashion and great discount. Depending on the store there was great harmony with the staff and management.

    Cons

Long hours, corporate breathing down your neck, a lot guidelines and outdated computer software that is seriously outdated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Corporate needs to do a better job managing the two New York stores, it felt like we were against each other instead of being a team

I have been working at French Connection full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

once the greatest job in retail now one of the worst

    Cons

Key players resigned....VP of Retail was the best mentor, and business innovator ,very motivating-left for different opportunity, head of e-commerce and planning was a great business partner-just left, key store managers and visual support all resigned...more to come which is too bad as business will never bounce back under new leadership which is awful and uncaring

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring back and promote all who resigned as new leadership is very chaotic and causing extra work for stores

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

    Current Employee - Sales Associate
    Current Employee - Sales Associate

I have been working at French Connection part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

70 percent discount for sales associate, however there is a limit to how many items you can purchase
additional 30 percent off sale items
    Small boutique style
Small and can be family style and inviting with the right managment

    Cons

No growth opportunities once you are a keyholder.
Corporate and district managers are very condescending, petty and have indecent communication methods
    No training for any positions
    very unorganized

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work as a team instead of pointing the finger
    Get to know you associates
You set the tone for the atmosphere of your store and depending on how well you treat your employees is how long they will stay.
Balance and equal opportunity is also very important.
Lastly, Do not judge a book by its cover, I think managers missed out on a lot of valuable team members because they were so caught up on appearances.
